Guest gianfrancovialli10 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 I bought an advent vega off ebay last week but whenever I play a flash video, a flickering line can be seen across the screen. Thinking this was ROM related, i changed from r8 to Corvus5 but the issue still persists. Does anyone else suffer from this problem or do you think I have been sold a faulty unit? Thanks for taking the time to answer my query.

As far as I know, all ROMs suffer from this problem so my guess is the NVidia GPU drivers.

Until recently I was running the special 'optimised' 10.1.120.1 version of the player which is available from here in the "GLES Optimized Flash for Advent Vega" section. That 'used' to play fine but lately the BBC iPlayer has been doing odd things so I've now upgraded to v10.3 of Flash Player off the Android Market and that seems to have resolved the problems I was experiencing.

I checked a couple of videos of the advent playing flash on youtube and those units managed to play iplayer flawlessly.

Guest trevor432990 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 BTW thanks for the quick replies guys :) You're welcome. Try using BBC iPlayer and see if the video plays OK on that. If you are still having issues sometimes a reboot of the system or re-install of the app will help clear the problem otherwise try installing v10.1.120.1 from the link I gave you and test that. Let us know how you get on? B)
