Guest phil8715 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 I've been trying to play Farmville on my Vega. I have the VegaComb rom and my partner has the Modaco R8 rom. We have tried all manner of combinations of browsers, trying to play through Facebook and we have tried direct from farmville.com. The game loads then a white screen appears with what looks like a play button round with a triangle in it. We have tried the Stock browser, Skyfire, Miren not tried Dolphin as it's very much like the stock browser. I've also changed the user agent to desktop, but again the same result. I've seen on the Farmville forum that Android have blocked Farmville from running can anybody tell if there's any truth in this?
Guest trevor432990 Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Never played Farmville before but the 'white screen play symbol' you describe I've seen before when having problems with Flash Player so check if the game uses that and if so make sure your Flash Player app is working and compatible with the game. :)
Guest dibbles Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 For me it has always said that it does not support my device when I visit that web page. Running CM7.

AFAIK Farmville uses Adobe Flash Player 10.3. Somebody on the Farmville forum got it work on his Acer Iconia which is Native Honeycomb. I've had sure that it's been enabled and running correctly. It seems strange that the iPhone and iPad has it own Farmville app, and yet there's nothing for Android. Since I posted the 1st message I've reinstalled Modaco R8 rom, as I was getting FC's and space problems.
Guest trevor432990 Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Try downloading the optimised version of Flash Player v10.1.120.1 linked to in this topic under the "GLES Optimized Flash for Advent Vega" sction, install it and reboot then test the game again.

I've got acres of land and I've been playing it on and off for about a year so obviously my farm would be bigger and hence that could be why it isnt working as it should because of the size of the farm there's a lot of animals, building etc, and it's probably struggling to load it all. When my snail based slow band has downloaded it I will test it. Have you got all the extras in corvus installed ? Such as the sp1 kernel pack etc. Edited June 19, 2011 by phil8715

Everything seems ok) YMMV. Edit: don't forget to do regular backups. Be a good idea to create a backup before making changes. Regarding flash, only problem I 've had is after clearing dalvik cache from within CWM. Even though it shows as being installed, it wont work unless uninstalled then reinstalled from market. Guest phil8715 Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 I tried it and it just don't work. Unless Zynga port over to the Android platform think I am going to have to give it a swerve. Another way would be to get the app on Apple and re write it for android. I just think that Zynga games are just too flash heavy.

The only thing you can't do as yet is plant crops, I've been able to harvest and plough, I clicked to go into the market the and white screen appears with the white play symbol.
