Slow usb transfer - any reason?

Hi, i've recently got my gf a vega, its been great using corvus5 rom but there is one thing that is so annoying. I'm getting really slow file transfer between my pc and vega (usb)

I'm lucky if I get 1mb a second using windows 7, most of the time its in the kb speed range, this is with a tested and verified class 4 16gb card. The card is formatted and partitioned using clockwork recovery.

Any ideas?

What software are you using to do the transfer between the PC & Vega ? Have you tried doing a wireless transfer and compared timings yet? :)

I was just using the standard explorer with cut n paste, though I setup an FTP file transfer system today and it seems a little better (1.5mb sec) with none of the crap that windows 7 does before the transfer starts.
