Sms not received

Hi guys!

I've got a really really really really annoying issue.

I live in Italy and I use very often text messages (SMS); I've noticed that sometimes I don't receive an sms, it happens randomly and I really don't know why.

I had this problem also with my old Android device, it was a dual sim with 1.6 donut (real Android, not fake); whit this old device the issue used to happen both with my Vodafone sim and my Wind sim, so I don't think it's a provider problem.

The problem isn't caused by signal losses, I know it because I've used the app ''No signal alert''.

I hope someone can help me, cause I'm quite desperate.

Edit. I forgot to write you that, on my Metal, I use the official Rom made by acer, I've never installed a custom Rom and I've never had root permissions.

When I used my old device I had root permissions, I tried to install custom Roms and to make lots of full wipe; obviously none of that has solved this problem.

I know, it's over 1 year that I live in this situation..:(

As mentioned, with my old phone I've used both Vodafone and Wind, this issue happened with both sims, so I assume it's an Android problem. Could it be an universal android bug?

Now I miss several messages, at least one per day.

Is there a forum where I can speak with some android developer? (I mean a real developer from Google).

It could be since it hasn't worked on either of your Android phones.

There's the Google Support Forum and maybe the Google Code site. Unlikely they'll respond though.

Do you live in the city or countryside?

I live in countryside, near Pisa (Italy); but I've lost some sms also in Pisa or other countries.

I'm gonna try to ask in that forum. :(

I bought the sim that I'm using in 2007; do you think it's too old?

Ah I see. Would you say it's worse in the countryside or when you're in Pisa?

Yeah it's worth asking anyway.

It's possible, maybe the small metal connectors on it could be a bit damaged or something, ask your provider for a replacement SIM. Hopefully, they'll give you one for a little or no charge and then you might be able to rule out whether it's due to the SIM or something else.
