Guest RussellS Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Hi, I have been running my Gen1 SF for the last 6 months with Sebastian 404's Froyo ROM with no issues and the battery life has always been pretty good. However, at the weekend I converted the phone to Gen2 and loaded CM7 (N104) which I am really happy with except for the fact that my battery indicator is doing weird things. Firstly I noticed that it appeared to be draining really quickly even when turned on but not being used. So, I charged the phone to 100% and then used the battery calibration app to calibrate. After this I disconnected the charger and within a few hours with the phone just sitting on the desk not being used the battery had dropped to 80%. So, I plugged the phone in and left it overnight to charge for about 8 hours and in the morning the phone was still charging and said 74% and the indicator light wasn't green. I'm sure this is a calibration issue and not a physical problem as it has only appeared since upgrading the ROM. I would like to follow the advice in the "Battery Recalibration ProTip, It's Super Effective!" thread but the stumbling block is step one where it says..... 1.Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged. .....as mine doesn't appear to reach the level where the light goes green. Certainly, after charging overnight for 8 hours the phone should be fully charged so should I just do that and then wipe the battery stats in ClockworkMod. Does anyone have any advice on this please.

I'd say just proceed straight to the step where you wipe battery stats in clockworkmod. No sense in turning it on and off if its already overcharging itself.
Guest Swimmerboy Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Boot into clockwork - go to advanced (I think) and do a 'Wipe Battery Stats' and reboot. Should fix your problem if it's a calibration issue.
Guest RussellS Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Thanks for the quick replies guys. I've done as you suggested and wiped the battery stats in ClockworkMod. What should the battery read after wiping the stats. I assumed that it would then read 100% but mine is only reading 67%. Should I just let it do a few full discharges and recharges and see what happens.
