Guest hotboxx Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Hello everybody, recently I bought a ViewSonic ViewPad 10s and I was very happy with it...untill last Saturday something fell on the tablet and now the display glass is broken. The actual display still works, it still reacts to touch however not very accurate. I´ve contacted ViewSonic Europe for repair but they replied "the cost of a repair would be uneconomic". I guess they mean uneconomic for them :-) Does anybody has tips or suggestions how to solve this problem? Any instructions where to buy and how to replace the glass by myself? (I live in Belgium) Here are some pics of the victim:
Guest trevor432990 Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Think it would be easier just to claim on your household insurance for this as previous threads on the subject seemed to indicate it was more expensive to try and do it yourself. :)
Guest Unipete Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Hi there, I know that this link is from a thread about a vega screen but post #9 is interesting about the cost of replacing a screen. I think Trevor is correct. Claim off your insurance. http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v.../broke-my-vega/

Maybe I will try to sell it on Ebay to recover most money.
