[*] [KERNEL] zKernel | 2.6.29 | baseband 67 | 22/06/2011

[*]Hi guys,

[*]This was requested by several people, but I wasn't really going to do this, knowing that 2.3.3 update was about to be released soon.

[*]But since it's postponed to August, here it comes: zKernel for baseband 54+

[*]

[*]Features:

[*]- latest SE sources (2.1.A.0.492)

[*]- FPS cap removed

[*]- overclocked to 1.13GHz

[*]- in-call volume increased

[*]- full netfilter support (droid wall, wifi tether)

[*]- drivemapper support (2.2+ native app2sd)

[*]- working with basebands 54+ (67 recommended)

[*]- no battery drain / sleep issues observed - 100% stock behaviour

[*]Developers/Cooks: Feel free to use my kernel in your roms, but please, don't forget to mention which kernel is used and link to this thread

[*]Download:

[*]This download is for stock 2.1 ROM only! If you're using custom ROM, please check with the relevant dev/cook!

[*]zKernel 22062011.zip - update file for xRecovery 0.3

[*]Sources may be downloaded from SE Dev page. Patches are available at FreeXperia Git.

[*]Cheers,

[*]z

Hopefully, this will work with TripNmiui 1.7! I would finally be able to use BB .67!

Will test later

Someone needs to pack GB ramdisk for this to work in GB roms. I might give it a try later if someone already hasn't.

Sumthin I am gonna try when I get off work......Trip's 1.7.0 Froyo Miui, flash Hiro's mod352 kernel, without reboot, flash Zkernel ( boot img ) so I can use Hiro's ramdisk, & Z's new kernel for the 67 bband....

Four hours till I can test this...Will report back!!

Best regards,

Chris

P.S......ALWAYS MAKE A BACK UP BEFORE YA FLASH ANYTHING....................TRUST ME......8-)

[ Using ]

kernel => zKernel_22062011

ramdisk => FreeXperia_kernel_beta12b_128mhz (GB)

[ All credits go to ]

zdzihu (kernel)

jerpelea [FreeXperia Team] (ramdisk)

me [splicing these two together ]

u guys for testing these thing we cook-up

[ Requirements ]

CM7/GB rom

Baseband 2.1.xx (preferably 2.1.67) (you can download it from BaseBand Collection)

Baseband patch (2.1.xx) for GB from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1053221 use the file cm7bb54.zip

[ Download links ]

boot.img only:

http://www.mediafire.com/?5r9f41wbb9sw13w

wifi module only:

http://www.mediafire.com/?hgn29wtdm1d9xgf

[ HOW-TO install on CM7 ]

make sure that ur rom supports custom kernel booting (CM7 by default supports custom kernel booting)

take a FULL NANDROID/RECOVERY BACKUP before testing any of this

power off device flash baseband 2.1.xx (preferably 2.1.67) using flashtool

boot device and immediately get into recovery

flash baseband patch cm7bb54.zip (if ur rom doesnt support baseband 2.1.xx) [CM7, as of now, doesnt support 2.1.xx]

flash boot.img

flash wifi module

restart device now it u should get this kernel and rom working on CM7/GB

if ur GB rom doesnt support custom kernel then u need to follow this guide:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7#post13022717

before doing anything from here... ( only skip the part when-in u have to flash baseband 2.0.52 & related patch) [i will update that guide in a while]

if ur GB rom already supports baseband 2.1.xx THEN DO NOT FLASH BASEBAND PATCH

Known issues:

even though i am using a ramdisk which sorted out the dhcp issue with wifi i personally have the problem that i have to use static-ip... please do so if u are unable to conenct to wifi with dynamic ip...

Any luck with Trip's 1.7?

Thanks!

The official framecap @ 60fps or 48fps?

I'm using wolfbreak's 7.1 and goro's 3.52 and is perfectly stable with long, i mean super long battery life.

Goro's kernel is @48fps which is acceptable, for me.

This kernel is no different from GORO'S BUT. I'd stick with goro's for stability!

I have mixed FreeKernel-mod-352 (MIUI) kernel with the latest ZKernel. Running it on Trip's 1.7 (bb .67).

Everything is working!! Just remember to use the WIFI module from the original ZKernel, otherwise the WiFi gives an error.

Glad to have a custom kernel working on bb .54+ :)

Thanks to all the wonderful X10 Developers!!

I did what hirox10 and SourceCode said and I got the kernel working perfectly on 1.7, with baseband .58.

All credits should go to Z, Goro (tkymgr), Doomlord, Hirox (for sharing his thoughts on putting together the MIUI version of FreeKernel-mod35.x),

and last but not least Trip for MIUI ROM!

I attach the zip, you just flash it in xRecovery and you are good to go.

Everything works, BUT I cannot record video.

Camera is just fine, but if you open camcorder and press the Rec button,

the app FC and, until you reboot, every time you try to launch the camera app,

it says "Cannot connect to camera".

As I said, thankfully, reboot fixes it, but video recording doesn't work.

Attachment: *DELETED*

SourceCode made a zip with camcorder working!
