come on as it is ZTE is no way bothered about their customers.

I don't think that's true, if ZTE didn't care at all they wouldn't have bothered to send a PR Rep on their behalf to assist us with queries we may have e.g. the source code one.

CM7 is the only serious rom worth contributing to for the Blade. Anything else is a waste of time.

In the end this is something you have to decide. Personally speaking, I have had a hell of a lot of enjoyment and usability out of the ROMs that you, kallt_kaffe, flibblesan and many others have worked on. A working, bug-free CM7 is the holy grail. It is almost there, but not quite, especially with regards to the sleeping wifi. So, in the meantime, thanks to JJ, FLB, SS, GSF, etc ROMs. I (we) have had access to new features, stability, usable battery life, and a sense of being part of a vibrant community. Not a waste of time at all, IMHO.

I agree, i'm back to using CM7 now

TomG made a patch that is not submitted yet fotr the wifi reconnect, testers are saying it's working

and the wifi going to sleep when the screen turns off will be fixed when ZTE releases source code for the libra,

which will be very soonish, so CM7 is getting there very soon i'd say

Hey Psyloid,

why did you go back to using cm7. all aong the way you said the zte based rom is better. are the latest nightlies much better than the one you used for green V5?

I would really like to go back to cm7 - i really miss the perfect RTL languages support, the notification power widget and controlling the music next\back with volume buttons while screen is off, but i remember it was not as smooth as the zte based and the battery life was shorter. what do you say?

oh, and btw, from what i remember the wi-fi reception wasn't as good as on zte, and the gps was rebooting every now and then.

Read Psyloid's signature.

Well, they're both based upon different ROM's. Green is based on CM7 and Blue is based upon GSF.

If you're happy with what you have then I suppose there's no need to change.

green is based on a very old version of cm7.

The thing is, it's the best rom I've used to date. A working radio app would be good but I can use Tune In via the internet.

I have yet to see a rom that would offer me an improvement over this one. I don't play games but use the phone for telephony, texts, sat nav (co-pilot), docs, email, video and all manner of things.

Thanks for your comment but what benefits does the Blue have? I don't see a link to download it anymore.

There's a few new roms out at the moment but again, what' are the benefits. It would be useful to have an updated rom list

I'd just like to say that Blue Ginger v5 is the best rom I've used so far.

I get way more battery out of it than Ginger Stir Fry or CM7 (and Green) and the GPS works every time and has never reset my phone.

The only thing I don't like are the ambiguous emoticons in text messages.

Overall an incredibly solid rom with a few force closes here and there but nothing drastic. It's a shame it's not being updated anymore.

+1 and with flawless Wifi operation in multiple locations...til that's sorted out elsewhere I'm sticking with Blue

One advantage with Green was the use of 2SE which gave you more working memory. 2SE wont work on Blue and I'm not aware of anything else I could use.

Do you mean S2E?

If so, S2E just moves your apps to SD and therefore, frees up internal storage.

It shouldn't affect the amount of working memory available.

Anyway, Blue includes the same feature (A2SD) but it's just not visible and it's automatic.

I went back to cm7 mainly because I'm addicted to fruit ninja and that game does not run well on blue also cm7 runs ea's Tetris and blue doesn't . battery life and GPS is still better on blue but zte is about to release the source code for the .35 kernel and that will change cm7 drastically .

strange, fruit ninja works well on my phone with blue ginger :)
