Is it possible to put ZTE dialer in CM7?

Though a lot of people prefer AOSP dialer, the ZTE dialer does have certain desirable features - engineering mode, predictive dialing and

CALL RECORDING!

I tried to plug the dialer in CM7 N98 but it FCs. Does anyone have any idea on how to do it?

Try this Its the ZTE Dailer included in wbaws gingerbread leak rom. Flash in recovery.

It hasnt been tested because i dont use cm7 so dont complain if it doesnt work.

Do you know if all the dialer codes are the same as before?

EDIT: It causes a lot of force closes e.g. Android.Process.Acore and the MMS service.

If somebody wants to try it, there was an app called Smartdailer.apk in swedish spring.

Maybe it works on CM7

I'm glad I'm not the only person that prefers the ZTE dialer, those Facebook features are useless to me anyhow.

Predictive dialing >>>>>>>>>> silly photos of your contacts from Facebook IMO.

What about opening up the ROM zip then replacing Contacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and Mms.apk before flashing CM7?

That will not work for

1. CM7 android's base code is compiled with VMSPLIT3G
   
2. wbaw's gingerbread leak is built from ground up on VMSPLIT2G

Yeah I'd recommend that as well.

I think you need another internal apk installed along side in order for the codes to work, and it only really woorks properly on the stock ROMS

I do want ZTE Dialer for its Codes so we can caliber Proximity Sensor on CM7 and get rid of Non-responsive Black Screen while calling.
