Guest Predators Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Hi, I've been following the guide on here to partition my SD card. I booted my phone up with volume down + power on etc. The only option I was not given in this process was to choose an extension. Yet when performing a backup it says at the end 'Backing up sd-ext...' If I use Link2SD it asks when started to choose the ext, so I chose ext2. But upon rebooting it still asks the same question and states if it appears after a reboot then its not mounted. In the storage info within Link2SD it states SD Card 2nd Part and lists it as 'not mounted'. I have even booted the phone back up into recovery and selected 'mount ext' but its still not doing anything? I'm at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong or how to correct it. My rom is Swedish Spring RLS5 and I am using recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.2-blade-gen1 Any help would be much appreciated here. Thanks.
Guest flshg Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 More info might be helpful: What guide did you follow? What software did you use to partition? What partition sizes did you specify? How are they laid out e.g. 1.5gb fat32 primary, 500mb ext2 primary, 0mb swap
Guest Predators Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) More info might be helpful: What guide did you follow? What software did you use to partition? What partition sizes did you specify? How are they laid out e.g. 1.5gb fat32 primary, 500mb ext2 primary, 0mb swap I used the guide on here section 'A'. I used Clockwork to make the partition and selected 1024mb and 0mb swap as suggested in the guide. There was never any option to select ext 2 though as the guide suggests. Guest Sheshnag Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) I am having the same problem!! I have parted FAT32 - 1.5gb and Ext2 - 500 mb. I used EASEUS partition Manager to part. Having problems with both inbuilt Darktremor and Link2sd. Both Primary. Edited August 23, 2011 by Sheshnag
Guest Gibbo501 Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 I also used the all-in-one route to upgrade to GEN2 and CyanogenMod. Quick and painless. I had nothing but trouble with EASEUS partition Manager. I found it far easier to boot into a USB stick running Linux then use the partitioning tools.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 I always use gparted in linux to make the partitions in the sdcards
Guest Sheshnag Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 I dont use Linux so gparted is not an option for me. Anyway I can use this in windows?

You can download the gparted live cd and boot from that in order to use it, insert your sd card into a card reader from there within the gparted live environment and partition it as you see fit. :)
