Guest okram1 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 I've spent absolutely ages on the forum following the stickies and basically have got nowhere? After playing with my flytouch 3 I never thought I would hit a brick wall so quickly Tried to load r8 ended up with a wifi error message, have tried to flash it but windows ultimate 32 is not even recognising the usb drivers that I've downloaded so I can't even begin, I've followed the threads about this assiduously until my brain hurt and my wife is threatening divorce Is there an organisation or individual out there who could put my drivers on and load either something like vegacomb 1.6 / r8/ corvus 5 for me I live in West in Yorkshire okram
Guest Minimonkey Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Have you seen this: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...iver-installer/
Guest sorcie Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 What state is your vega in at the moment? Does it boot? still got R8 on it? If so you can do all you need to without worrying about getting drivers to work anyway. If not then maybe we can work something out, i'm not too far away.
Guest BillyBobJoe Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Okram1 sorry to give some bad news but the vega roms won't work on a flytouch as they use a different cpu. They are not tegra devices. It runs based on CPU of Infotmic IMAPX210, 1GHz with RAM 512MB. If the flytouch is a vega clone i'd happy to assist but i think are going struggle. Billy..

Guest simonta Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) would love any help though Okram1. Sorry, it isn't going to work. Completely different machines. There is no help to be given. I have no idea, but you may also completey disable your tablet by trying. The Vega, in my experience, is unique in being extremely easy to recover from disasters. I know of other mobile devices which have been rendered completely unusable through software fettiling. Even if it was possible, which it's not, the way in which Vega ROMs format the devices memory is not going to work. You would need to do some heavy lifting to modify the installer. Guest sorcie Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 If you can tell us exactly what state your Vega is in, i'm sure between us all we can sort it out. What Rom(sic) do you currently have installed.. Stock, Modaco, Corvus or something else? What is this WiFi Error message that you have, the more information you supply the easier it is for us to help. And to put your mind at ease, you CAN'T brick the Vega :)

And to put your mind at ease, you CAN'T brick the Vega :) I got it on Wednesday and so it has the standard ROM that it came with, after I tried to put r8 on it I pressed a wrong button or something and it locked with a warning triangle with an exclamation mark inside, so I thought I'd flash it but I just can't get any USB drivers to load. I just keep getting a Code 10 message, the device can not start with Windows saying it has found the software but can't access it. I don't get an APX folder appearing any more in Device Manger just two Android ADB Interfaces both with yellow triangles at the top of the device tree. The wifi error comes on when I try change the settings to connect to the Internet. Thanks in advance for any advice
Guest Minimonkey Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 You could try a full system restore: http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/full_system_...nstructions.pdf then start trying again with R8/Corvus5 etc
Guest Unipete Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 The best thing to do is follow minimonkey's advice and get the vega into it's basic out of the box state by reinstalling the stock rom. Then follow this guide to install the correct drivers. It takes a while but it works. http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...omers-it-works/ Then we can start thinking about flashing modded roms.
Guest Minimonkey Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 This is now working: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...iver-installer/

Guest IanTurner Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Did you try AUDI the automatic installer that minimonkey linked to in his last post ? Btw that is Windows 7 ultimate 32 and not Windows vista ultimate 32 you're using isn't it ? (typo in yuour original post) Edited June 24, 2011 by IanTurner

Guest Unipete Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Take a deep breath!! I'm assuming that your Vega is showing up as a mass storage device in device manager, (as my new replacement did last week). There are a couple of ways to identify the one that is the vega. You can try unplugging the usb cable from the vega and see which mass storage device disappears. or you can have a read of this post and download USB Deview from it to try to identify the vega on your pc. Link to Thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...-wrong-win7-64/ Take note of this part of the first post 'BEGINNING OF YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THIS IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHICH DEVICE TO UPDATE SECTION ' Give this a try and then get back to us. Edit: Don't follow the instructions on that thread to install the drivers, just the bit about figuring out which usb device the vega actually is. then download and run USB Deview. Thanks for your help I've managed to get audi to come up but can't get the vega in recovery mode .... grr, more patience I can tell which is the vega mass storage device because of the 0095 id - might have to save that step for tomorrow Cheers okram
