Guest ShakeyB Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 Dear All My ZTE Blade Gen1 was TPT'd to Gen2 and was running Swedish Spring RLS 5 with no issues. randomly today it didn't wake with power button. Phone is completely unresponsive, battery pull for 1 hour, plus switched out the battery with another, power button still does nothing (no lights, no vibration, no screen) When plugged in with a battery, I get the red notification for charging. When plugged in without battery I get the big green android. I am wondering if there is any way to even get into clockworkmod? or possibly fastboot reset from the PC? Any advice is massively appreciated. Many thanks in advance... :)
Guest ShakeyB Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 broken power button? any way i can check this? i took off the back cover and pressed in the little black nubbin with a pen, and it still has a positive click to it... btw, thanks for the fast response
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 Is this a coincidence? maybe its the 24th of June bug - everyone's Blade will stop turning on! Anyway keep an eye on that thread since it sounds like a similar problem. try charging the battery overnight. Try doing a TPT again
Guest swisstourist Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 plug in USB and see if it works! maybe a problem with battery power.
Guest ShakeyB Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 strange coincidence! I will keep an eye on that thread thank you. just to clarify, the power button causes no response... how do i see if USB works if the power button still does nothing? guarantee it's not battery problem, tried 2 different batteries both checked with voltmeter are charged and work in another phone. hedgepigdaniel, how do i TPT without using the phone's power button (i TPT'd originally with power on with menu & vol+ held) thanks for the ideas guys..
Guest wbaw Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) I think you'd have to be good with electronics, maybe use a multimeter & invalidate your warranty to know for sure if it was the power button. It sounds like it could be that though. Any chance of a warranty replacement? Orange (uk) told me their warranty is 2 years & they send a courier to your house to swap it for a new one (after a long frustrating call to India). Edited June 24, 2011 by wbaw
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 hedgepigdaniel, how do i TPT without using the phone's power button (i TPT'd originally with power on with menu & vol+ held) you make a good point. replacement looks like a good option.
Guest irishpancake Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) When plugged in without battery I get the big green android. How this happen?? If power button broken....does this by-pass power circuit?? Is Power button stuck in ON position, hence constant Battery drain. Are you in Bootloader? can you do anything from PC when connected by USB, without Battery? If you had full power from PC USB, like >=700mA?? Charging info: USB Cables/Chargers The ZTE Blade uses a standard and common Micro-B USB connector. Chargers must provide at least 700mA current. The Blade will charge at a reduced rate if a third-party charger or normal USB connection is used [20]. Detection of the original charger seems to be done by the Blade checking for shorted USB data lines. The Blade will report Charging (AC) in Settings/About Phone/Status/Battery Status then. Slower charging is reported as Charging (USB). Edited June 24, 2011 by irishpancake
Guest calle168 Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 I've got the exact same problem as ShakeyB. After trying a while I could access Clockwork and tried to reinstall android, but without any luck. With the battery unpluged (and the USB-cabel pluged of course), It tries to boot and the green Android appears, but after a few seconds it fails and start over again. Really strange.
