[Experimental] To workout a CM7 supporting the Leak Version Kernal.

First, you need to know this is an unfinished work.

I managed to work on the source code and make it support the 2G VMSPLIT MAPPING.

compile this build and replace with the leak version wifi driver.

Boot into the system normally and test on the major functions

most of them looks fine :

Communications (Phone, mms) : OK

WIFI : OK

GPS : OK

GPRS : OK

Media Play(TEST WITH MOBO PLAYER): OK

CAMERA AND CAMORDER : FIXED AFTER REPLACING the copybit.so from leak version.

EXCEPT these :

1. USB DEBUG MODE not working, cannot mount when connected to my desktop. (No detection at all)

- I try to locate the LUN file, but I find nothing.

2. Proximity sensor : caller black screen/won't awake when using leak version sensor libs. Not working with CM7 libs

3. Libaudio issue with SIP.

I get stuck with the above issues and I tried to fix it with editing the ramdisk content and replacing some of the libs coming with the leak version.

I can't work it out . So, I share this out and hoping that maybe some of you could make his work and figure out whether this is a dead end already.

I know some of u will take the point that this is a waste effort for there is no source code.

Yet I believe this is good for us to know some facts and knowledge.

I just gave it a go.

All the major functions you mentioned seem fine.

The proximity sensor doesn't seem to work so the screen stays on which is good for me since on all other Gingerbread ROM's it just makes the screen go black when it's not even near my ear so I'm glad.

What nightly is this based upon? I'm assuming it's N111 but just checking.

In fact, honnestly, I think if we have the smoothest and nice feeling (and some others nice things) of the leaked rom with CM7 functionnality, it'll be "almost perfect". It's just my opinion by the way. :)
