Guest geegeethatsme Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) I have a MagicSim dual-sim adapter which I use in my SF with work and personal sims. Works fine, if a bit of a squeeze, but the irritant is that with every change between sims, I have to re-sign-in to Google. Probably a perfectly reasonable security measure but damned annoying nonetheless. I have read from Google searches that this irritant is removed in 2.3.4 roms. Now I'm Gen1 on SS5 and very happy with it, so before I do the Gen2 switch and test this possibility on CM7 or one of the leaked roms, is anyone else successfully using a dual-sim adapter on a 2.3.4 rom without the constant sign-in problem? EDIT: See Post 603 here for an update. Edited July 2, 2011 by geegeethatsme

With cyanogenmod 7 it did not work for me. There is a request on their official forum to solve the issue. On the 2.3.4 leaked rom everything is working fine

I use the supersim (16in1) on leaked official 2.3.4 (Ginger Stir Fry). Sometimes it takes two times to enter the menu and select a number to change succeeded. Otherwise works well. Not required re-sing-in to Google.

Hum... there has a non-cutting operation too: http://www.magicsim.com/en/dual_sim.asp?new_id=23 Edited June 26, 2011 by gomes29

Guest geegeethatsme Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 (edited) Mind me asking - where did you get the MagicSim? and does it fit well on the blade? I got it from e-bay (this model from this seller). Dual-Sim Adapter Like I said in the OP it is a squeeze but no damage is done. It's the no cut version so the sims can still be used in any other phone. The adapter has the Sim Tool Kit app loaded onto it, so that appears in your app drawer after the adapter is fitted and you reboot. There are a few basic options to set up. I'm very happy with it at £16 - it does what I want. The only fag is the repeat sign-in. If 2.3.4 based roms stop that then I'll be up-Gening and flashing asap. Thanks to JV15 for the info on Cyanogen, although that seems to be more fundamental in that CM7 doesn't allow dual-sim use, full stop. One tip if anyone goes for it - use the STK menu to change sims. The 007 option (it'll become clear if you get one) doesn't work on the Blade and is a real hassle to revert if you try it. Trust me - been there. Edited June 26, 2011 by geegeethatsme

Guest JV15 Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 What is not working? change from sim1 <> sim2 or everything? You can access dualsim menu but you cannot operate in it
