Hi all, i got a Vega tablet as a birthday present on Friday and since then i have been trying to figure out how the heck to get Youtube working on it lol

I am sorry if this has been covered before, i tried searching but since i am new to "android" i just ended up even more confused than i already was.

I went to "myadventvega.co.uk" on my Vega and downloaded the "version 1.10 FULL system Image - WITH ADOBE FLASH" (my Vega is on version 1.09).

When it finished d/loading i went into software tool\software update and browsed to the download folder & selected the update. the Vega rebooted

and i was presented with a little logo of the little guy and a box that was opening (i presume this means the update was unpacking), trouble was this is

how it stayed for what seemed an eternity, i panicked thinking i may have bricked it and tried to reboot the Vega. When it came back on i tried the same process again

only this time and every time after the update image no longer shows up in the download folder, even though i know it is there because i checked via the PC browser

in USB mode.

please please help as i am at the end of my rope and worried i have damaged the bloody thing.

Thanks, Mike.

Try this thread.

http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...guides-how-tos/

Also all the info to flash to 1.10 is on the "myadventvega.co.uk" web site if you read and follow it step by step. You can just re-do the process.

It will be OK if you go a step at a time and read all the info.

"myadventvega.co.uk"

:)

Edit:

Additionally you may want to follow these instuctions to Flash from your PC.

http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/full_system_...nstructions.pdf

Some struggle to get the vega into recovery mode as there is almost no indication it is in recovery and ready to flash from the PC, everyone gets there sooner or later - Good luck.

Hi Adam

I tried to search for yawdig but all I got was a page full of numbers! Is the search facility working correctly? Can you post a link to the thread he has with the pdf please? Thanks

Thanks guys, i managed to get it updated through my PC with no problems at all :)

it even played youtube video's when i tried it but for some reason they dont work anymore? they spend

a while saying "loading video" then the little message pops up saying "cannot play video". any ideas?

also, since the update my touch screen seem a bit temperamental. For instance, when dragging a shortcut

around the screen it keeps dropping and i have to press quite firmly to keep hold of them. typing seems

harder as well, loads of double letters popping in?

Download an app from the market called 'multitouch visualiser'. You should be able to tell if any areas of the screen are temperamental.

Updated to what Mike, some roms have these known issues , as unipete says the multitouch visualiser will show you if the screen is working as should, also run the screen calibration utility app this clears up a lot of screen issues.

This is the update i instaled "softwareImage_v1.10_Vega_Final.exe" (after doing the USB driver) via my PC.

will look into the screen issue later, thanks :)

people had sensitivity issues originally on the stock roms on older machines when the vega was plugged in and charging but thought this was now fixed so maybe try rebooting a few times see if it settles down

As for the issue with youtube. If you access you tube from the browser, does it play them ok?

I seem to remember that there have been issues with the you tube app that comes with the stock rom.

I ran the screen calibration app i found here on MoDaCo.com and now it is spot on, more or less as good as the wifes iPad :)

glad to help  with regard to you tube it may be related to hd settings but i would uninstall the app and download again from the market and see if this helps, it may also be a flash issue, i occasionally find iplayer stops working and i can only get it back if i uninstall flash then reinstall

Glad to help out too.

I've got a Vega and an Asus Transformer, (long story).

Even with the TF running Honeycomb 3.1 I sometimes get problems with the you tube and iplayer apps. They work fine using the websites through the browser however.
