Guest andrew531 Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 I'm getting a new 32gd class 1 card tomorrow. Do. I simply drag n drop the contents of my old card onto tube new one after formatting? Should I partition it first then drag n drop? Sorry a silly question ha ha but sd cards seem to be an unwritten law to themselves!!!!

Always a good idea to make a copy on your PC Andrew but the Vega will put all the files, folders and structures back as it needs them. I found when I formatted mine that doing it with clockwork mod stopped me having issues other members had with the card not being recognised etc. I copies stuff back after I formatted and partitioned it. Good luck

I've just noticed I've been promoted to 2 stars ha ha

Hope this ' exciting news' is good news from an update perspective! I've just noticed I've been promoted to 2 stars ha ha If you have an Ext partition on your old card, you will need to make it first again before copying your files The order I was told previously was: 1 Make a clockwork mod backup on your existing card 2 Create the new equivalent partition on your new card 3 Copy all files (including the backup) from your old card to your new card (under Windows / Linux / Mac etc) 4 With the new card in place, restore the backup you made at 1 above. Hope this helps Edited June 26, 2011 by Yogimax

Good luck It works brilliantly I am so pleased! The link 2sd isn't working afterwards though which I am not too fussed about. Even though partioned it, an error comes up. Can I partition it again with everything on it, without losing all of my data? It can be done via rom manager, but I dont want to lose all of my media etc.

I formatted my card via windows (after trying via cwm) then put it in vega and partitioned it with cwm. Then unmounnted it and put into laptop and dragged all contents of prrrevious card. Ejected from laptop and put back into vega. All working well except link2sd! Tried rebooting several times and reinstalllling but no joy. ?
