Hi all,

as stated in the title the icon appeared yesterday after trying out some games off the market. It looks like an android device at a 45° angle with two lines either side of the screen. I suspect it is the vibrate symbol but I am just guessing. I am running corvus5 if that helps.

I also have other questions that probably don't warrant there own threads so I will ask them here.

1. My Vega's wifi fails to work after the device resumes from standby. It shows as connected but there is no connection in the browser or market. I can get it working again by switching the wifi off and back on again but its a bit annoying to have to do every 20 minutes. Is there a fix for this?

2. The gravity sensor fails to work in most games, sometimes it doesn't work at all and sometimes it is way to sensitive. Is this normal for vaga's or is it just mine.

3. Is there any way to easily move the cursor around when typing, like you would with the arrow keys on a normal keyboard. Placing the cursor with the touchscreen is very inaccurate unless I zoom in. For an example if I want to insert a letter into the middle of a word if I use the touchscreen to place the cursor it will go to the beginning or end of the word not to the middle where I want it. This makes corrections difficult any laboursome (is that a real word or have I just made that up). :)

Thanks in advance,

Richard

It may be that when your device goes into standby it switches off wifi, if so, try an app like "regpon wifi keep alive" from market, and set it to follow the wifi state. This stops the device from entering standby when wifi is on. You need to switch wifi off when you finish your browsing/downloading to let regpon release its wakelock and let the device sleep.

For cursors, try alternative keyboards, like swype, which have touchscreen cursor keys or remap the vol keys (temporarily) to cursor adjustment.

Thanks for the quick responces and the keyboard idea, I will look in the marketplace for keyboards.

On the wifi subject, it dosent seem to turn the wifi off as the symbol in the notification bar and in the system settings say it is still connected. I am happy for the wifi to go off when the device goes to standby but it should come back on again when the device wakes up. At the very least it should shut the wifi off properly so it's less hassel to get it working again when you do wake it up.

If it did turn it off properly it would be less annoying as I have a widget on my home screen to turn the wifi on and off. At the moment I have to goto my home screen, press the wifi button (on the widget) once to turn it off, then wait a few seconds for it to actually turn off, then I can turn it back on, wait a few seconds and then i can open my browser again. Ballache! :)

Is this a known issue or is it just boypete and me that are having this problem.

Just noticed something else about the standby/wifi issue. It only happens when the device goes to standby on its own. If I manually put it into standby its fine when I turn I on again.
