Guest theeskimo Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Thinking of making a little wiki, anyone can edit it. We can put tutorials and guides there. Absolutely anything vega related, and of course link back to the forum for every idea/ source. Cool stuff guys Tell me if your interested / would be happy contributing.

Good idea but i think there is one already http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent_Vega
Guest newbe5 Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Good idea but i think there is one already http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent_Vega Wikipedia is more for just general information about a subject. what he's on about is a wiki dedicated to the Vega, with links for updates, guides etc. Personally I like the idea a lot, and I'd try and help as much as time will allow :) newbe5
Guest premieral Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Stunning idea, with some very strong threads on here not stickied a wiki for all general useful stuff people notice or create would be fantastic. well done :)

Guest winnipeg Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Think, very good idea :) The link is an example of one for the eeepc started in 2007 when the "701" was a must have still very useful - I still have a 701. Link to WIKI at the top of the page - hope Modaco can do similar. http://wiki.eeeuser.com/

Id be interested in helping as time allows. I write a fair few instruction guides at for work aimed to be understandable by less the less technical in case I'm not around. Could ask a mod to sticky the link once we have one.
Guest mxbob Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 i like this idea i would like to see a section for each custom rom where the creators of the roms could keep updates on the current status of the rom (what's working/not working, current version, changes in current version) as the threads on here tend to get too big to follow track off
Guest richardmlea Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) I see what you mean, I have noticed several useful posts that are crying out to be sticky. Percy25 has made the backbone of a wiki here http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...guides-how-tos/ A prime example of a thread that should be sticky. Edited June 27, 2011 by richardmlea

Ive added a few place holder pages to fill in later. Just topics that came to mind when browsing. Clock losing sync and BSOD. Edited June 28, 2011 by shameful
Guest JingleManSweep Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Erm, Paul has the MoDaCo Wiki... I started the Advent Vega page ages ago... You can even sign-in with your MoDaCo login... http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Advent_Vega
Guest premieral Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Erm, Paul has the MoDaCo Wiki... I started the Advent Vega page ages ago... You can even sign-in with your MoDaCo login... http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Advent_Vega Erm.......Bit late to say now and anyway your wiki only tells people that dont have a vega what it has, for those with a vega it gives us nothing more than the side of the box does. what theeskimo has proposed and started is a useful wiki that will compile all the good parts of this forgotten forum so instead of having to bump useful threads always to the top because paul has given up on this noobs and regulars will have a short not so crowded reference. so Erm thanks for the input but again , a bit too little too late i would say
Guest JingleManSweep Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 so Erm thanks for the input but again , a bit too little too late i would say Fair enough. I started the page ages ago and like the other MoDaCo wiki pages for devices, added the basic information about the product (e.g. specifications). Also, it keeps the information in a central place where you don't have to access loads of third party sites for each device. But, ultimately, as many people have done before (e.g. setting up device specific pages, blogs and sites, for the ZTE Blade, Huawei Pulse etc.), most people end up coming back to MoDaCo (or XDA Devs, TabletRoms) as it usually is the first place this type of news happens.
