wifi stops working after standby (Automatic standby)

Hi everyonel,

My Vega's wifi fails to work after the device resumes from standby. It shows as connected but there is no connection in the browser or market. I can get it working again by switching the wifi off and back on again but its a bit annoying to have to do every 20 minutes.

It dosent seem to turn the wifi off as the symbol in the notification bar and in the system settings say it is still connected. I am happy for the wifi to go off when the device goes to standby but it should come back on again when the device wakes up. At the very least it should shut the wifi off properly so it's less hassel to get it working again when you do wake it up.

If it did turn it off properly it would be less annoying as I have a widget on my home screen to turn the wifi on and off. At the moment I have to goto my home screen, press the wifi button (on the widget) once to turn it off, then wait a few seconds for it to actually turn off, then I can turn it back on, wait a few seconds and then i can open my browser again. Ballache! :)

Is this a known issue or is it just boypete and me that are having this problem.

Just noticed something else about the standby/wifi issue. It only happens when the device goes to standby on its own. If I manually put it into standby its fine when I turn I on again.

Thanks in advance,

Richard

P.S. I am running Corvus5

do you have wifi set to never sleep in settings?

Do you mean in the router seetting or the Vega's settings. I can't see annything on the vaga's so will have a look in the routers settings now.

what difference will that make anyway? My router wifi was working really slowly this morning and last night, I thought it was something I had done as I had been trying out alternative browsers but when I reset the router it started working fast again. Is the keep alive setting on thee router likely to be causing this or is it unrelated?

it is in the wifi settings on the vega richard. go to settings then i think, wifi>wifisettings then press the settings soft touch button on the task/status/notification bar.

this will then bring up two new options scan amd advanced and under advanced you will get the option to set wifi to never sleep.

i have this option always set, my battery drain is good never loses it completely between 6am start ( unplug ) and 11pm ish charge and wifi is always there when i bring the vega out of standby either a forced one or one it has done itself.

didn't not the advanced menu. There's probably loads of menus hiding from me, I will check for others. I only got it on Friday aand its my first android, still learning but learning loads from here.

Just checked the setting and its set to 'never'. Maybe a program I have installed has changed the settting recently, I will let it go to sleep now and see if its still doing it.

I will let you know how I get on after a few rounds off C.O.D.
