ZTE Skate - coming soon

Hi all

Since 'breaking cover' as one of ZTE's PR agency reps, I've received numerous questions and queries. Rest assured, I am looking to find answers to them all. One pressing issue seems to be around the arrival of the eagerly anticipated Skate, here is the official notice.

"ZTE wants to thank everyone for their on-going interest in the Skate. All we can say at this stage is the device will be available in the UK soon. Due to commercial sensitivity, we cannot provide more detail at this stage – but as soon as we can, we will announce news here on the forum and on Twitter via @zte_UK"

So, it's coming soon - which you knew already I suppose, but at least you have had it confirmed as official... Sorry, I can't provide more detail, but as soon as I can, I will let you know :)

How about ZTE selling sim unlocked phones not tied to an operator, running vanilla AOSP Android, with updates to newer Android relaeases as they become available? I think those would sell VERY well.

skate have too big screen - it's good for Web and movies, but in day to day use it is just too big. 3.5'' - 3.8'' is enough. IMO OFC

IMO 4.0" is the sweet spot, I think most people can get used to a 4.3" though.

You're at the right place.

Is there any proper confirmation that the Skate WILL be able to play Flash?

Theres not been anything in concrete written down that it can.

Hi SeanJacko just noticed you are here too. much more action her in regards to the fanboys pages of XDA ;-)

Is there any definitive detail on all the specs of the device?

Are you covering the UK or the rest of Europe too as a PR?

Seems like a very nice phone but..

One thing that bugs is that different sites have different specs for this cellphone, I cross my fingers att hope that a MSM7227@800Mhz is not used in this device..

For gps and navigation (15 20 hours per week) a bigger screen should be just fine :)

Hi lukesan - I primarily cover UK. The agency that I work for covers Europe. On the forum though, I will try to answer any question for any region. I might not always be able to find the answer, but I will certainly make sure I ask ZTE.
