Guest jenjenx Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Sorry I haven't kept on top of the CM7 thread. Can someone please detail the improvements that RC1 has over the last stable CM7 (7.03) Thanks
Guest k0zmic Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 There's been a ton of improvements IMO, too many to list individually. FM Radio now works, the Accelerometer no longer lags, USB Tethering and it doesn't freeze/restart or w.e. after charging. http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issue...tars%20Priority Pretty much everything with 'Patch Supplied', 'Should be Fixed' etc. has been improved.
Guest jenjenx Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Luckily mine never had the problems you listed above. Is there any improvements in battery life?
Guest k0zmic Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Luckily mine never had the problems you listed above. Is there any improvements in battery life? Hard to say really. It varies with everyone, generally speaking I'd say it's good but not excellent.
Guest Tony Sidaway Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 How much you use the display, and how bright it is set, seem to makes a big difference to battery life. I've got the display set to 9% for indoors use and I get acceptable battery life. Outdoors it has to go up to 50% or more on a sunny day. I also use a battery manager called Green Power Free which manages the data and Wi-fi, and this is supposed to reduce battery load. I haven't tested that, though.
Guest androrphin Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 I've just installed it and it seems faster and smoother to me. Loads of fixes to oft aired problems ( including FM radio ). GPS seems more stable. I will give it a more thorough work out over the next couple of days.
Guest jenjenx Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 I might give it a try. By the way.. upgrading from 7.0.3 to 7.1 do I need to wipe all data? I know it is recommended but I hate having to restore all apps, place shortcuts on home screen again etc...

You can preserve your home screen layout with MyBackUp Pro.
Guest jenjenx Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Oh so.. that is how you guys do it. I'll be installing soon.. any more tips is much appreciated :) Also what does the RC mean? is this not a stable release? Edited June 28, 2011 by jenjenx
Guest rockstarszzzz Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Oh so.. that is how you guys do it. I'll be installing soon.. any more tips is much appreciated :) Get titanium back up - it will back up ALL your apps and app data too! So it will save how your screen layout is! All you will have to add is widgets. Good luck

Guest Andr0ider Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 As far as I understand 7.0.3 requires Gen2 device while RC1 can work on Gen1. Gen2 leads to GPS bug.
Guest jenjenx Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 I have a Gen1 upgraded to Gen2 used 7.03 since release and didn't have any issues with GPS reboot. Now with RC1 I get a reboot everytime I use google maps. Is there a fix for this?
