Where do installed apps reside - SD Card or ROM?

Hi,

I just started using this unit and have downloaded and installed a number of applications (Dolphin HD, ChromeMarks, Astro, etc).

I'm wondering where the installed apps reside - is it on the SD Card or on the internal memory?

I can't see any trace of them on the SD Card but I guess they could be in hidden directories there.

I'm curious because if the apps reside on the card I'll lose them if I swap the card for another one.

Logically it would make more sense for them to be stored on a portion of the internal memory (space permitting) that is not wiped when the Kernel/O.S. are updated.

Thanks for any info.

They will be wiped when the OS is changed. You can use App2SD to move Apps to the SD card to save internal space, but it won't help when updating OS, for that you should use Titanium Backup.
