Guest iMaxime Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Hi, I'm currently running on my LG O2X the Modaco ClockworkMod 3.0.1.4 r1 with FR17 Vanilla and everything works fine ! I would like to flash the CyanogenMod RC1 ROM to test it. I have read that there are problems between Modaco's ClockworkMod and CyanogenMod ROMs. If I flash ClockworkMod via ROM Manager, the CyanogenMod ROM will install but if I want to go back to Modaco's ROM can I have to flash again with Modaco's ClockworkMod or the ClockworkMod from ROM Manager will work ? My question is : Is there some differences between ROM Manager's ClockworkMod and Modaco's ClockworkMod ? Thanx !
Guest jambezuk Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Without directly answering your question... 3.0.1.4 r1 is OLD! There is a 4.0.0.5 if you check out the forum! Just as easy to install as your one but there are no problems restoring the boot sections of backups. Once installed the recovery will play nice with both MoDaCo and CM roms. http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optim...orkmod-4-0-0-5/
Guest iMaxime Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) I've also read that some people bricked there phone when they flash the ROM Manager's ClockworkMod on the MoDaCo's ClockworkMod. How can I upgrade without any risks ? Thanx Edited June 29, 2011 by iMaxime
Guest Rusty! Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Never heard of anyone bricking a phone using ROM Manager, worst case scenario is it buggers up the recovery partition and you have to flash it again. Still, the one in the link above it pretty safe, I've flashed it loads (kinda have to make sure each one boots before I upload) using the included batch file.
