how to type in text and speech comes out of speaker

My wife works in speech therapy and wants to take my Vega into work, where she types in something, and it comes out as the spoken word.

Could anyone please give me guidance on this?

I've found the 'text to speech settings', downloaded an app (SVOX), but don't really know where to go from here.

Searching Google, most articles refer to GPS/etc.

Well a quick and easy way to do this is to install Google Translate from the Market and then set the output language to English type what you want to hear and press on the speaker symbol. Dead easy ! Then you can listen to it in Spanish, Afrikaans, Albanian etc if you want :)

I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but it seems good tested it a while ago. It's not Vega but I think it may be useful sometime.
