No access to the android market

I have just installed the AUDI and MoDaCo custom rom, allowed it to fully reboot. Setting/About Device is currently showing: MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Advent Vega r8 and the task bar at the top looks noticeably smaller with some apps replacing texts with icons.

However when I tried out the android market, signing in with my google account and dowloading. I get the same message: 'There are no Android phones associated with this device. Please sign in with a different account'.

Any ideas? :)

Do I need to verify 2 step my google account and tell it what device I am using?

I was under the impression that the Mod was there to verify and give the device some identity to exploit the android market, I'm an android newbee you see.

Somehow an android app was added and now I am able to browse the full android market?

I told you I was a newbie, anyway time to get downloading and some spending.

There are 2 paid apps which would have saved me loads of time if I'd known about them at the time I got my Vega.

These are Root Explorer (root user file manager that will allow you to read and write files in your system folders) and the paid version of Titanium Backup which will allow you to do a batch restore of all your apps and will also save and synch your backups to your Dropbox account (get a free Dropbox account if you don't already have one).

The other useful thing to have hanging around on your PC is Vega Tools v3.
