Guest GalacticUncle Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Hi guys, I'm trying to install CyanogenMod 7.0.3 and it just will not take. On reboot it shows the robot for about 5 seconds and then it scatters away before coming back and continually repeating. It starts the install from zip fine, and gives me the following messages... --Installing: /sdcard/ROMs/update-cm-70.3-Blade-signed.zip Finding update package.. Opening update package.. Installing update... Install from sdcard complete. This only take 30 seconds to complete.... I currently have an old Japanese Jelly fish ROM installed. I have used ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.8, 3.0.1.4, 3.0.2.8 and the latest 4.0.0.5 and none of them work (currently back to 3.0.2.8). I have tried Recovery Manager and that doesn't seem to work anymore and keeps telling me I need to use ClockworkMod which is installed. ROM Manager never works and seems to just crash. The last thing I did was to fastboot flash recovery back to 3.0.2.8 and ran the install zip from sdcard but I am left with the same problem. I am pulling my hair out! I have followed all the various guides but nothing works... what the funk is going on?? Help me MoDaCo... you're my only hope!
Guest Swimmerboy Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Have you upgraded to Gen2? CM7 only works with updated devices now. For ease I'd probably go the TPT method for updating. This will upgrade your device to Gen2 and install CM7 in one easy step.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Your phone is probably a gen1 CM7.0.3 is for gen2 phones Convert your phone to gen2 with the method here : http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...n2-tpt-upgrade/
Guest GalacticUncle Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Cheers peeps. It is all becoming clear now!
