Skype, with Video Call, released

So, I check some of my tech-related news site, and I find that Skype (to my big surprise after MS bought them), updated his android version to enable video chat.

The big question is, does somebody with a Pulse/U8200 could try it, in this new mode?

If so, what's the ROM version you're using? I guess the latest version to support front camera, was FLB-2.1, wasn't it?

Sorry for the crappy english :)

Skype enabled video call only on 4 android devices, not including Pulse or any popular phones. source

I'm using the RMB rom and the voice call uses the loudspeaker which makes it's quality rather bad, too.

Yeah on 2.1 and 2.2 skype for me works on speakers too only :S But on 2.3 it worked great last time I had that on my u8230, but than it lacks the front camera, or any camera for that matter :)

Well, that was fast, now there's a patched version, for non-compatible devices.

Can someone with 2.1, test it? http://goo.gl/svD3n

If it works, it could be a good reason to get back from Basic-2.2, to FLB-2.1

Just tried this on FLB 2.1 (Build 1.7).

It didn't install properly (seemed to install but listed as 'com.skype.raider' not just 'Skype' and with no Skype logo). It then just forced closed on startup.

To get rid over the skype-only-output-on-loudspeaker issue, this older version seems to work: http://www.readwrite...droid-phone.php This is still listed as com.skype.raider but works over wifi or 3g btw and since its older, its not a 'video calls' version..
