Hello everyone, I have a problem with my blade (OLED). Yesterday it went into airplane mode and it is stuck in that mode. and I cannot get out of it. when I try to uncheck it, it just greys out and does not do anything. I was initially using flb r11 but I have upgraded to gen2 and using cyanogenmod green v5, with wbaw's method to see if that solves the problem, but it did not make a difference. I've tried many things such as rebooting, wiping cache and data partition, formatting system, boot and data partition but it has failed to do anything. No matter what I try, I cannot exit airplane mode. I have read that you could try to disable sim lock, but I cannot uncheck it as it keeps telling me the passcode is incorrect but I know it is not. Although it is airplane mode, wifi and bluetooth are not greyed out and I'm still able to use them. I am totally stumped and do not know what to do, any help? Or is my phone completely useless as a phone? Thanks

More details: My phone was working perfectly well before this happened. I've also tried an emergency call, it comes up with a message "turning on radio" and the circle spinner is on an endless loop, I have to restart the phone to remove the message.

Have you tried to reset with reflash and wipe, or tpt?

I had the same problem, so i put mine to warranty.

It sounds as if the entire phone radio has just frozen. I think a warranty is the best course of action.

happened to me earlier today with the Chinese 2.2.2 rom, when I was messing with the radio NV items.

another wbaw's TPT should have solved it. if it didn't you will have to use your warranty..

Yes, I've tried reflashing & tpt (when i upgraded to GEN2.) The thing is that I do not want to replace it as I've got an OLED, and it will almost definately be replaced with a TFT. Any other options? Or am I going have to replace it for sure?

Edit: I'll try to switch back to gen1 through TPT. Will get back soon with results

Edit2: Unfortunately, no luck. Log attached

I have the exact same problem. After going from gen 1 to gen 2 for cyanogenmod7, my baseband borked and i can't turn off airplane mode. Using the dialer codes to access the phone info menu, i couldn't turn the radio on at all. Is there a fix for this, or will i have to just wait for the skate?

It is quite simple .... I've had a similar issue :

But you need a working phone to make a backup of your NV rom ( working ZTE blade and 1 stuck blade)

first of all download stock recovery.zip , this to allow to put your GEn 2 phone in FTM mode , copy to the root of the sd card.

boot into recovery mode (clockwise)

install the stock recovery.zip file

reboot

Now you'll be able to boot in FTM mode (diagnostic mode)

download QPST .....and install it on your PC which will be connected to the ZTE blade

Connect usb cable to the blade (ZTE phone)

Boot in FTM mode (when phone is off , push volume - and powerbutton until FTM appears in screen.

Now normally on your pc you'll find in COM ports ZTE diagnosticmode in com X (you need this COM port) (this can be found in system , hardware management console)

Start now QPST configuration

ADD port , and select the COM port found above in system settings

Click Ok , right click on Port , and enable the port to be in diagnostic mode .....

Choose now in QPST configuration

start clients ... software download

a new window appears....

make a backup of the working phone (make sure it is in FTM mode else backup will not succeed)

If this is done , put the Phone (plug usb cable into the phone) in which is stuck in airplane mode ..... and put it in FTM mode

restore the backup you've been taking just before.....

And in my case all was working again .....

You revived my buddy's phone. Thanks. My friend's phone was half-bricked after a bad tpt update. After 3 days of endless fiddling I stumble upon your post and now the phone is back! I am so happy. Thank you!
