Modify Home Screen Icons

Hi,

Probably a silly question, but how do you modify or remove the icons at the bottom of the screen? (I mean the sticky ones that stay there even when you move from one desktop to another).

Thanks,

Chris

seriously though I don’t think you can in the standard launcher

either load a rom which already has them removed or download a different launcher from the market

I use VTL launcher with a Honeycomb theme which allows you to put whatever icons you want along the bottom (or sides). It works well for me on the Vega running Corvus5.

Any replacement launcher should do this - my personal preferences are (in order) VTL, ADW & Launcher Pro. There are free versions of all these so install them & have a play.

Hi,

Thanks again for the answers.

I'm surprised at the seemingly poor quality of the standard V1.10 ROM. To name but a few important issues I've had in the space of the first few days:

-Can't read from a plugged in USB device and no way to fix it

-Can't customize the icons at the bottom of the launch screen

-Can't switch the screen off without also switching the WIFI off

-Battery power indicator unreliable

-Unnecessary "Device Standby" mobile phone related process uses up power and can't be switched off

It's a great piece of hardware but I'd urge the manufacturer to put more effort into the quality of the stock software as currently the "out of box" experience is not great. Without the superb input of the members of this forum, I would probably have abandoned it by now. However, it shouldn't be necessary to to apply the various updates, custom ROMs, etc, and I guess many users don't have the time or inclination to go to this effort.

Did you not do any research on the Vega before you bought it? Everything you moan about is well documented.

The old saying " you get what you pay for" is definately true and the fact that so many users are on here customizing and tweaking would suggest you are wrong about not many users having the inclination.

I am no dsg or advent lover but fair is fair it does what they promise straight out of the box which is browse the internet, play movies, play music.
