Guest twrock Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 What just happened to paid apps in Taiwan? Can any other Taiwan user confirm that you do or don't have access to paid apps? I can't even download my previously purchased apps (even though they show up).
Guest jimmie32 Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Not just Taiwan, Mainland China has no paid apps either. Routing my Pulse's network traffic to my personal server in Portugal doesn't work either; I think it's because paid apps are getting blocked out for MDPI devices once again. The Android market just screws up sometimes.

Guest twrock Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) This could be the issue: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2011/0...s-in-taiwan.ars Yep, that must be it. Stupid Google and stupid Taiwan law. Google's old 24 hour refund policy was reasonable. 15 minutes is RIDICULOUS! :) Maybe if Google hadn't been so stupid to shorten it to 15 minutes, the Taiwan government might not have felt the need to "protect" their citizens with a ridiculously long (7 day) refund period. Oh well, for now I'm using Market Enabler to get to my paid apps. But I did try to buy an app today, and I wasn't able to. So I don't know if using ME will let me buy new ones or only access my old ones. Edit: And if anyone is filing a class action lawsuit against Google for keep us from accessing our already paid for apps, I want in on that action. I think a judge would be sympathetic. Edited July 3, 2011 by twrock
