Guest That-Guy Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Copied from the ZDA Forum :) Original Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152240 I got bored last night so I decided to try a Miui port. Thanks to the work done on gingerbread roms by Geno and DZO this was actually fairly straightforward to do. At this stage basically everything that works in CM7 is working in Miui. Based on the Desire-Z Miui.us release available here: http://goo.gl/BckGH Known Bugs Issue with recording audio (skype, gtalk etc) No hardware video acceleration No camera Probably more, post your results Thanks to Genokolar, DZO and Miui team Downloads Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?x5a4rb5zez58244 (3/7/11) MD5: dc4dd3368dc375d8e6d8752aaa643d37 Installation Copy miui_u8800.zip to your external sdcard Boot to clockworkmod recovery (Optional) Perform a backup. After backing up reboot recovery (in the advanced menu) Apply update from sdcard Important Wipe data/cache. Reboot to system and enjoy. Be patient the first boot as it takes a while to build the dalvik cache and will just show a black screen for ~15 seconds.
Guest Ahmad Zuman Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 seems great for a start but no camera >< guess i will wait tell they fix that thanks
Guest Simon O Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 MIUI and Oxygen ROMs are built upon CyanogenMod 7 so unless these guys manage to fix all the bugs in the U8800 CM7 port, the MIUI etc won't be fully functional. Sadly. Still.. nice to see MIUI can be ported.
Guest cooldfuzion Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Miui runing on X5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=517JYwIscqs...player_embedded

Guest Simon O Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 I tested it last night for the first time. Anyone know why it takes several minutes to get a cell signal on the rom? Same thing happens with the CM7 port. Very odd.

Guest Cirno Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 MiUI got updated ! Changelog: 21/07/11 Updated to latest Miui.US release (1.7.15) Camera improved, should work correctly for most. No video recording. Proper fix for buzzing audio, unfortunately breaks audio record again. Lots of small fixes for things I'd left out previously, probably not noticeable by most. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152240 All credit goes to "stockwell"

The rom only supports Chinese and US English languages :(

Guest NeostarNeko Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I hope so, it sounds like an awesome rom to try out. I'm going to wait a little longer when a few more revisions have gone past though ;)
