Homescreens default Launcher of Corvus5

Hello.

While I am using LauncherPro on Corvus5, there are still a few things I would like to know, and which I can't seem to find an answer to.

- How can I change the number of homescreens on the default launcher? My phone also runs Android 2.2, and it has an option in the "Display" menu. With Corvus5, this option is not there. Is the number of homescreens stuck to 5?

- Can I remove the "Phone" icon from the dock, and if so, could anyone tell me how? I can't find a way to remove it.

- Is it possible to remove the Phone application from the drawer (apart from hiding it with Launcher Pro)? The Phone.apk and TelephonyProvider.apk files are already gone, but the icon is still there.

Thanks for any information.

not used this for a long while but they all seem to follow the same pattern :) on home screen select settings, then edit ,then each screen will appear with i think a cross in the corner to delete that particular page or screen. so delete the ones you dont want i believe you can add in the same way.

be aware though that any screen you delete will delete any widgets on it also.

cant help with the phone icon in the dock as i use vtl launcher and this lets you drag and drop which icons you want in the dock.

hope this helps

To remove the phone icon, long press on the icon, choose 'change shortcut' from the pop up menu, and choose 'blank'.

Set the number of home screens in the preferences menu on Corvus 5

It seems you are both posting directions for different launchers. I have tried these options; long-pressing the phone icon does nothing, and Corvus does not have any options in the menu for changing the home screens. (I am talking about the default launcher of Corvus5 SP1, not ADW or LauncherPro. I know how those work.)

As the above haven't us Corvus5 in a while but the settings they are referring to aren't in the settings app, there is a settings (or preferences button) that you get to by pressing menu (long press back) on the home screen and the settings should be there.

Hi Katsunami,

You're right, I am using LauncherPro. So, I've spent a couple of hours trying different things. The default launcher seems to be a 'built in' version of the Modaco gingerbreadlauncher available from the market. There is no interface for changing the phone shortcut or the number of screens.

I also tried to find a way to delete the phone app, but it isn't visible in the System app, file manager or shell. I did see it in ADW launcher in Corvus 5 Without SP1, but It still couln't be deleted.

HypoTurtle: If you haven't used Corvus for some time, then you may not know that ADW / VTL, which they previously used, is no longer installed by default. Your instructions are perfectly fine, but only for ADW / VTL :)

Lesd: Thanks for the confirmation. I have just deleted everything as much as possible from the standard launcher, and installed Launcher Pro Plus, the same as I also use on my phone. Apps I don't need -and- can't remove I just hide using LPP's "Hide application" option. I'm almost finished setting up the tablet to resemble my phone setup, and I'm quite happy with it  If it only had an IPS-screen and 3G and GPS for the price I paid for it. (But OK; that would be quite unrealistic. ;))

Out of the box the Vega / PoV is quite crap, but when used with Corvus5 (or R8, for that matter), now does everything I would expect of it  The only thing is.... my phone feels so friggin' small now. Hehe.
