Guest nitko Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Hello, I am running CM7 Nighlty105 and AdFree is unable to get root access, it says: "I was unable to get root access, without this you can not install a replacement host file. Click ok to find out gow to root your phone" Other applications (root explorer for example) gain root access normally. Superuser application doesnt show adfree. Has anyone else had this problem?
Guest steeperton Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Same for me, but I don't think it's a CM7 thing - my wife has the same problem, whilst not running CM (on a pulse mini). Adfree seems to be messed up at the mo - look at the market comments, there's lots of posts about it no longer working (and others about not including a changelog). Edit: Sorry, re-read that. Try removing adfree from the list in the superuser app, then reallocating permission to it. Edited July 4, 2011 by steeperton
Guest tonydl Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 You could try to clear data of Superuser.
Guest bhf Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 I got trouble with the experimental new zte kernel and cm7 regarding root/superuser. Titanium Backup hung up awaiting superuser rights. Reverting back to stock kernel and all probs were gone.
