Hi everyone, i hope you are well. :)

I have been using the rom Swedish Spring RLS5 for a few months now.... i have been pretty happy with all the new features this has allowed me to use as well as to get a faster smartphone

I am currently using this rom with a ZTE Blade/ Orange San Francisco..... but i have been having a few issues...

1) There seems to be light grid lines when you play video on youtube.... as well as your own video you have taken with your phone.... is there any way to fix this??

Also it seems to me that using the stock android video player.... the lines come up maybe 50% of the time... BUT if i use a different player from the market such as Mplayer..... the grid lines show up proabably 80% of the time??? This seems odd that a 3rd party video player performs WORSE than the stock android player???

Could the stock android player be better developed than other 3rd party video players??? What are they doing that reduces grid lines compared to 3rd party ones???

2) The Swedish Spring RLS5 seems to be a battery hog..... i seem to be able to use my blade for even fewer minutes especially when playing games or videos etc.....

I have been using the battery doctor app.... on the orange standard rom that came with the phone.... the minutes that this app showed is left is pretty accurate.....

BUT for RLS5 it may show 30 minutes left.. but will actually play something like 10-20 mins.... is this a fault that could be fixed?????

3) Could you better recommend a ROM that is more stable than RLS5.... and that allows all basic functions of the phone to be working perfectly???

So i just want to thank everyone who posts to give advice..... and would like to say that this forum is SUPERB and all member are very smart and helpful....

Please keep up the good work to enlighten visitor about the amazing roms available.....

Thanks again and i hope you respond soon

Regards

Sam

1.) Try Moboplayer

2.) Sounds like You need to calibrate your battery stats

3.) Ginger Stir Fry.

Don't really know the reason for question 1, try using Moboplayer, maybe that will work.

As for 2, the SS RLS5 isn't a battery hog at all mate. I use it regularly for surfing and an average of 2-3 hours phone calls between charges and it lasts me at least 40 hours. If my usage is reduced, I've touched 65-70 hours comfortably. With intensive usage, I get about a day, which is pretty decent.

And SS RLS5 is the best 2.2 froyo Rom around, IMO. If you want 2.3 Gingerbread, then try out Ginger Stir fry, that's also a fantastic ROM.

[K0zmik beat me to it. :) And I forgot about Battery Caliberation, do that.]

Agree with above. Ginger Stir Fry.

You won't look back. (Personally I've seen at least 1/3rd batterylife improvement. and GPS works a charm.)
