Battery Stats Reset and Streakdroid 2.0/1.9 question

Hi all

I recently installed the StreakDroid 2.0 ROM with Fards tweaks update but i have noticed that the bettery life is dropping faster now than when i used to run 1.9 overclocked.

I did reset the battery stats when i installed this and wondering if that is the reason why as i am not really sure what happens when you reset the battery stats?

If it is not likely that the reset was the problem then what would be the best way to go back to 1.9?

1) StreakDroid 2.0 does have battery drain issues

2) Unless you followed the correct recalibration procedure then it has diminished it

3) Restore your nandroid backup :)

You did make one right?.. Right? Otherwise just re-flash 1.9.0 and perform a Dell factory reset

The correct battery re-calibration procedure:

Turn device on and charge to full

Unplug-Turn off, charge to full

Unplug, boot up, turn off, charge till full

Unplug, go strait into recovery and "wipe battery status"

Don't discharge the battery during these steps. Perform one after the other

Hope this helps

Thanks for your quick reply that helps a lot.

Think i will go back to 1.9 for the meantime. Guessing a dell factory reset is the one from the menu before the recovery menu?

Also thanks for the correct procedure for the battery stats bit, guessing though that in between the charge to full i let it run flat?

Yup, use the Dell factory reset as the one in Clockwork / StreakMod doesn't work correctly

And no, don't let it discharge in between and don't worry about "overcharging" the battery. :)

All your doing is giving your battery a good charge while ignoring the false calibration info. Unless you do the above before re-calibrating the battery then you are effectively changing the "max charge level" to whatever % the battery was at at the time.

Still a little confused about the battery bit. Once you have done all the charging steps why do you wipe the battery stats?

Thanks for all your help

battery stat doesnt appear to mean a thing on 2.0... the battery level is [urely down to arbritary level - voltage/% . crap? yup, blame the alpha code....

so even with a oversized battery it would still tell you youre battery level is dropping the same amount, then sit on 1% for ages, thats what ive found at least

also when battery says charged in android, turning it off and replugging it doesnt charge it as its the same code routine. so if its charged in android its charged... i said it was crap...

good news i have got past the issue with my custom kernels for gb... it nows wakes after sleep... looks like the issue was ironically powermanager causing a wake lock...

so hopefully less power hungry more stable kernels on the way.ive been using one for 7hrs, 23%battery lost (bt wifi on and ofvf, gps and data used plus phone calls)

Yeah sounds like crap alpha code to me.

Good news about your GB though, hopefully we can get overclocking at one point in the future. Would the perfmod from 1.9 work with the 2.0 as isnt it just a script file?

To be fair, mine is currently on 9% with very light usage during the time it has been on, occassional wifi, some calls/texts, no bluetooth/gps/data etc and it has been on 1d 3hrs. Looking at the graph in 2.0 battery usage pretty much shows what your saying about it being arbitary amount rather than any calculation.

Just a quick example:

Battery is at 85% however android sees it as 100%

You perform the above and now the battery is at 100% (Android sees this as 115% but ignores it as a missreading?)

You wipe the battery status resetting the current battery % and androids battery % (100& to 100%)

Ideally this should be done after every custom rom flash..

Really looking forward to your later releases. I've been spoiled (when it comes to android) with the streak with a perfectly stable rom. So I never really felt the urge to return to constant reboots, battery drain and crashes :)

Which you are ironing out
