Guest eirlysbill1 Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere else. I have searched, and I've not found anything definitive. I have been having some sd card dismount problems after loading Copilot Premium last week. The first dismounts came whilst downloading the map files. The files were 250-300MB. After few tries I got the maps on it, and I then had further dismount problems when using the satnav for more than an hour. Each dismount, crashed the phone, which then rebooted, and in most instances the phone found the sd card again, straightaway. I have been posting on the thread that's been started about Copilot Premium, but I was hoping somebody out there might have some answers. One person mentioned they had similar problems but they felt the dismounts were due to too much sunlight on the phone. That make sense, but it wouldn't explain the initial dismount issues when loading the maps (which was at night). Anyway, if heat is the issue, the phone does get a bit hot when the GPS and copilot are running. I've check the CPU stats, and the thing shoot ups to 98% or more when the both of those are on. And it pretty much stays there the whole time they are running. I'm hoping someone could tell me if there is indeed a tie, to high CPU usage/temprature and the sd card dismount? Or is this a dead end, and something else at fault. But, if heat is a serious issue, what can be done? I'm running FLB r 11, on a Gen 1 phone, with AMOLED screen. I've had my current sd card nearly 6 months and not fault, until now. The card technically is a SDHC: MyMemory brand, 16GB, class 4. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Bill
Guest mrflibbles Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 I had this happen to me and it turned out to be I didn't know how to use the mechanical lock on the SD card correctly. Take out your uSD card, perhaps give it a quick clean. Reset the mechanical retention clip. Put the SD card in, lower the retention clip. Slide it towards the bottom of the phone until you get a physical click. Since I did that I no longer get SD card removed/reinserted msgs when using Google Maps + Navigator with voice as I once did.
