Guest HappyClappy Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Hi I have an OSF and a LG Optimus One P500, and I can't decide which I should keep and which I should sell. I realise they're pretty similar in terms of spec, but does anyone have a COMPELLING reason for choosing one over the other?
Guest k0zmic Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Sell the Optimus One. Why? Blade has such a much nicer screen & Official CM support. Edited July 4, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest swisstourist Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 Give me both ! like this you dont have to decide!
Guest Atomix86 Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 The 800x480 resolution, 0.3" larger screen of the Blade makes this a simple choice. Factor in the custom ROM support (and ease of doing it) and it truly is a no-brainer.
Guest will8578 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 i hav just bought a blade not that long ago, i have to disagree with everyone above, yes the blade is amazing, but if you can put up with a smaller screen then keep the op one, if you go to xda and look in the op one rom development, and this is to everyone else aswell, the guy called franco has created probably the greatest kernel there is, and if you use his 32 kernel with a bloke called noijn rom, then it is perfect, also there a quite a few 2.3.4 roms, and lg have released their 35 kernel so franco is working on it and noijn has made a rom for it aswell, my daughter has the op one and iv put francos kernel on there, it really is a great phone thanks to the devs on there. heres a link for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=839
Guest swisstourist Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 on the serious side (no drug this morning, not yet!!!), the LG can have dust infiltration. the camera seems much better than the crapy ZTE Camera. so if you look to keep an overall perfect phone, I think the LG is better. screen is less pixelated, but camera is better. if you dont care about camera, you may get more money on ebay with the LG, it worths around 200$.
Guest hecatae Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Sell the Optimus One. Why? Blade has such a much nicer screen & Official CM support. Optimus One has just been added to CyanogenMod github, i'm expecting official support soon
Guest q123456 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) p500 have better build quality, have better sound. Probably will be a little faster. It's matter of needs: Wanna browse intenet, play some hd games (not rips) etc take blade Wanna use as mp3 player, digital camera, could live with worse screen, take p500. IMO Blade is prettier than p500 :) Edited July 5, 2011 by q123456

Also, how easy is it?
Guest hecatae Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks. can you tell me what these do please? Also, how easy is it? you would need clockwork recovery first, which i have posted here http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optim...overy-and-root/ but it needs cleaning up Then it would be a case of flashing: franco kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049518 devoid rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887281
Guest will8578 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 thanks HECATAE, oh and i didnt mean any disrespect to anyone by what i said, in real life terms i would say the blade is better but it just amazes me with what those 2 people hav done for that phone and of course mik, andy and a few others, i think i used gingerbreak to root it, my daughters phone was 2.2.2, i used this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247 its roms and how to do things, i put the custom recovery on my sd card and then used terminal to flash it, i wasnt good with adb, from my limited knowledge of these phones, iv only had the blade 3 weeks and the lg for 2 months, seems lg are better than zte for releasing sources, i first had a pulse then bought a wildfire, which was a stupid mistake, i know own the blade, which for the price and what it is, is amazing, and we are also lucky with the devs we have for this phone, tomG what he has done with the pulse is nothing short of a miracle, and even fibblesan before he got promoted lol anyway enough rambling and enjoy whatever phone you choose to keep :)
Guest k0zmic Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 just amazes me with what those 2 people hav done for that phone and of course mik, andy and a few others LG phones seem to have an excellent dev community, like a family member of mine has the LG Optimus (GT 540) which I upgraded to CM7 for them and that port is brilliant, it was so smooth and everything worked aside from DivX I think.
Guest will8578 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 yeah thats right i remember, didnt they say to use moboplayer instead, the blade community on their sucks but as everything is on here i cant complain, i used modaco for the pulse then when i got the shitfire, i used xda for it, now back with the blade community!!!
