Replacement Headset

Recently my stock headphones were ruined and I've been having one hell of a time finding one that works with it. Normal headphones work fine, I can hear just fine but with some headsets I've tried, the volume isn't fully there (not an issue with volume) and the controls on the mic don't work other than to trigger Stereo (which allows full volume) if I constantly hold it down.

Is there a specific headset I should try for to get full controls, volume and hopefully ringing through the headphones (rather than just through phone).
