Guest Morris Lee Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) Anyone tried something like this? especially class 10, does it make datasd faster? does it reduce the lag? I am using class 4 right now with 16GB, it is very laggy if I use datasd. does liquid even support class 10 speed? Experiences, comments please! :) Edited July 6, 2011 by Morris Lee
Guest fischschneehase Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 had a class 2 before and now i am using a class 6 8 gb and for my feeling its faster but still not perfect maybe with class 10 it fits:D
Guest TIM_ROX_UR_SOX Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 The R/W speeds will be EPIC! but it must be really expensive :S I used to use a class 4(16GB) and now i have a class 2(16GB) and i dont notice too much difference when I set the cache size to its highest (4096mb) other than data transfer between my PC :)
Guest Morris Lee Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Well, i am looking at this one, it says it has 20MB/s read, 16MB/s write. Anyone has any light to shine on this??

However, changing the cache did not help with the speed much and I am REALLY running out of space. Therefore, a full blown class 10 should have some good potential speed over my Lexar Class 4 16GB (tested read is 17MB/s, write is 9MB/s) And I thought if I want to upgrade, might as well get 32GB, might be able to use it in my future android handsets too. =D
Guest gnufabio Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 I think that 32 gb sd cards aren't supported by our dear liquid. Regards.

Guest Morris Lee Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Both Liquid and Liquid E supports up to 32GB since first release on the specs sheet. besides, if it supports 16GB, I don't see why they can't just make SDHC fully supported. For PC's it was only a driver upgrade will allow SDHC in standard SD readers, therefore, it is only a firmware compatibly. I am not worried about compatibility as I am sure it is supported, I am just wondering if it will reduce the lag if i use class 10 rather than class 4.
Guest Morris Lee Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 well, anyone used class 10 for a2sd with data on sd?
Guest sicenti Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 I bought this http://www.mustang-memory.de/en/products/0...oSD%20CL10.html no problem so far on liquidNext last release, 256mb swap and 512mb ext2 for a2sd
Guest AndreaIT Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 I bought this http://www.mustang-memory.de/en/products/0...oSD%20CL10.html no problem so far on liquidNext last release, 256mb swap and 512mb ext2 for a2sd how much score on a write/read test?
Guest sicenti Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 how much score on a write/read test? write 16 mb read 20 mb but usb connected to liquid write-speed doesn't go over 5/6 mb
Guest Morris Lee Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 I bought this http://www.mustang-memory.de/en/products/0...oSD%20CL10.html no problem so far on liquidNext last release, 256mb swap and 512mb ext2 for a2sd are you using datasd though?
Guest Morris Lee Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 write 16 mb read 20 mb but usb connected to liquid write-speed doesn't go over 5/6 mb actually, yes it does, I have got it to read at 17MB/s on my class 4
Guest sicenti Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 are you using datasd though? I don't know what do you mean with "datasd", liquidnext uses a script (maybe darktremor) to enable old app2sd, I had only installed the rom and all works fine after a few of reboots
Guest mmick Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 There is no need for more than class 4/6 as this kind of phone cannot do better internally. One thing is to files copy over USB <> microSD, another is the internal bus and processing. A TEGRA 250 may enjoy that additional speed but not these slower babies. If you do real life benchmarks you won't notice the speed.
