Best place to sell the Vega for parts?

Hi all,

Recently I dropped my Vega and broke the glass and digitizer.

Curry's have told me that it wouldn't be economical to repair & charged me £20 for the pleasure.

I have also gotten various different quotes from other quite frankly dubious companies online all above £180.

So I have come to the decision that it would be a lot more risk free to just buy another one.

I'd like to know if anyone knows a good place to sell my broken Vega for parts? Everything else is tested and working fine on it. I would stick it on eBay but I'm not really sure what a fair price would be.

If anyone could offer advice I would greatly appreciate it if I can reclaim any of my money back.

I dont agree with it, but you could always *cough buy another online - swap the bits that you need out and send it back claiming the delivery people broke it?

Just sell it on ebay, there is a good trade in busted tablets at the min, I know, sold two that where faulty myself recently.

To be honest If you can still see the screen and the touch still works you could put a protective screen over it. If the screen still works but has no touch you could still use it with a mouse. :))

How much would you want for it? Be reasonable as I may be interested.

I think you guy's need to brush up on your reading skill's, I said I dont agree with it. I was just making the OP aware of an option he may not have thought about already, claiming on contents insurance could be another.

Just as an FYI, A faulty vega sold on ebay (200616194129) for £41.

ive been keeping an eye out for tegra based devices but missed the last one :blink: as I'm going to attempt a diy google tv/ honeycomb for my tv

Sure, like I said, ignore this advice, couldn't care less if you agree with it, its like saying "I do not have enough cash to buy this item, therefore Stealing is a good option, although I would not myself"

Seriously, don't advocate advice, if you don't stand by it, not claiming a faulty moral compass on your part, just I'd only give words of wisdom if I had the decency to stnd by them.

And you also need to brush up your reading skills. As reported here in several places modding your Vega by flashing a custom ROM will not invalidate your guarantee. Advent have repeatedly said that they support the hardware and not the software and you can modify it to your heart's content.

that old tatty broken wallet thats empty, well you may aswell go down the high street find a big wig assault him and replace yours with his. its just an option. you could say he tripped and fell and his wallet landed in your back pocket

Yeah its a bit like saying "you should *cough rob a bank" Does not mean you should do it, though I'm sure if I asked you to jump off a cliff, you would contemplate it. But really the best way to make your life worthliving is to jump off said cliff, I'm not saying do it - its just an option YOU decide if you do.
