Guest tomolewis Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 (edited) I mainly use my Vega for web browsing and movies/iplayer. I've tried encoding 720p movies with mixed results so after seeing some reviews of the Ainol Novo 8 I'm tempted to sell my vega. Pro's much better screen Seems to be less fussy with video codecs I'll get some cash back from my vega (hopefully) Cons shorter battery life but not too sure how much shorter. Smaller screen (not too bothered)# no bluetooth........dont use it anyways. any views.......... please be objective :) Forgot Link to Ainol Novo8 Edited July 7, 2011 by tomolewis

I have never even tried playing back hd films on the vega most of the stuff i have is dvd rips anyway and they look just fine on the vega (unless you hold the vega *REALLY* close to your face) since installing rock player i have had no codecs issues at all but again if playing back hd movies is a big issue to you then that seems a decent enough machine the big killer for me and the reason that could never replace my vega is the battery life i go through a full charge every day/other day as it is if i was looking to ditch the vega it would be for something with a proven longer battery life (especially when playing videos) so my overall view? looks a decent enough machine but i would never ditch a vega for it but i dont see that that would be any help in helping you decide if it was the right tab for you

If you want to go down this route (but you will have the same issues) you might also consider the Agora tablet here http://www.kogan.co.uk/shop/7-inch-tablet-pc-android/ :) It comes with market enabled (these are the guys who are currently running the campaign against John Lewis, Currys etc regarding the ludicrous cost of their HDMI cables)
