Guest michaeljp Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 Hi Guys, I'm new to this site - and to Android. Ive had my vega for around 2 months now and was pretty happy with it. That was untill yesterday when i noticed a USB update on the myadvent website. I downloaded it to the tablet and went to install as i thought it was an update for the USB connector. The screen went blank with the back lite still on. I have tried resetting the tablet to no success. I have plugged it into my laptop and its not recognised. How do i get the thing working now?! Please help! Thanks

I'm afraid I'm no computer wizard and most of your reply does not mean anything to me - but thanks for your support. My Vega will not switch on and is completely unusable. Do you know what has happened to it?

Guest BillyBobJoe Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 Ok, hopefully a few simple questions to get you running again: Have you had your Vega attached to the PC? I'm guessing you have in order to get you in the trouble you are. (good that you had a go, but now you need to learn how to recover from your mistakes) Do you know how to get the Vega to nvflash recovery mode? If not go to the www.myadventvega.co.uk site and follow the software update instructions. Turn off. Back Button 1Sec, On & Back 1 Sec then Back 1sec. (whilst power & USB plugged in) screen will at best go grey Run the ROM update exe from Advent, screen will show nvflash mode on vega. PC will start up Command prompt and flash vega. Reboot, happy days. If you still struggling let me know. Billy

I followed your instructions and it has now turned on and it has been updated. Thank-you very much! Michael

Guest BillyBobJoe Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 no problem, just keep playing with your vega and learning more about android. your vega is very forgiving and is a great toy. I've had mine in some very messed up states and there is always a way back. Billy..
