Guest Anil k Solanki Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Hi, I bought my Blade in the UK but I live in Italy, so I got a UK 3 pin charger. I really would like a genuine ZTE Euro plug charger, I have other brand Euro chargers but the original is the best. Are there any Euro users who could tell me the model number of their original ZTE charger, assuming of course you bought it in Europe. A picture of the charger would be even cooler. Many thanks. Anil. Edited July 9, 2011 by Anil k Solanki
Guest Airazz Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 I have other brand Euro chargers but the original is the best. Why? It's just a basic, simple USB charger, there's nothing fancy about it. Get any charger you like, as long as it has output of at least 1.1A and you're good to go.
Guest Anil k Solanki Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 The model is this STC - A22050I700USB-A Thank you very much Migun. Anil.
Guest Anil k Solanki Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Why? It's just a basic, simple USB charger, there's nothing fancy about it. Get any charger you like, as long as it has output of at least 1.1A and you're good to go. Why? Because the ZTE UK charger is very small just a standard UK plug with a very short cable with a USB socket on the end. I have other USB chargers but they are nearly twice as big, and don't charge at the full charge rate. The phone says it's charging via USB not via AC. Plus the quality of these items are crap. One charger I bought via eBay basically blew up as soon as I plugged it into the mains. Good job I had nothing connected to the USB socket when I did. So the very simple solution to my problem, just get an official ZTE Euro charger. Hence my post. Anil.
Guest buneech Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Look for the HTC charger, if you want a small Euro charger.

Thanks for the tip buneech, I have seen the HTC chargers, but I have never seen the ZTE Euro chargers anywhere, not even a picture! Are they like Unicorns? Only coming out when the Moon is full? Anil.

Guest buneech Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Maybe they have them in Hungary or Spain, as they sell ZTE Blades there. I'd still go for the HTC charger as it charges the blade normally (as would any other USB charger) and it is quite easy to get a hold of one.

Guest Migun Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 The ZTE Libra that I had in December had a much better charger, it was a dedicated charger, not only a usb plug like on the ZTE Blade :(

Damn I want two of those! But at least now I know what the damn thing looks like thanks to you. Grazie. Anil
Guest Airazz Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 It's not brand of a charger that you need to look for, it's output current and voltage. Obviously something will go bad if you connect a wrong one. Technically, any basic 1.1A+ 5V USB charger should do. Someone in some other thread mentioned that short-circuiting the data wires in the charger will trick phone into thinking that it's not USB but AC charger and phone will charge at full throttle.

Hi Airazz, thanks for the info, I have a few USB chargers and I know about the shorting the pins trick. I just want a simple life with a guaranteed result. The ZTE Euro charger is barely bigger than a Euro plug which is a bit smaller than an official HTC charger. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply, much appreciated. Anil.
Guest Anil k Solanki Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Hi again CoccoBill, I have just realised the close up of the barcode you have kindly provided is for the USB cable and not the charger. Any chance of a product code for the charger? Regards. Anil.

Where did you get the info about 1.1A+? Because the ZTE charger is 5V 0.7A, the HTC one is 5V 0.9A or 1A. Any charger, which has a USB port should work, as the minimum for charging via USB is 5V 0.5A (as 0.5A is the current, that USB on PC provides). Edited July 13, 2011 by buneech
