Guest stevesilk51 Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Hi Guys, You quite probably have seen this already but in case not I thought I'd share this XDA link to the superb looking Asus Wallpaper. The water level drops with battery life as well! Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048959 Also if you haven't tried "thumb Keyboard" give it a go - another great enhancement for your Vegacomb 1.7 Cheers all Steve EDIT: Do a search on google for "reworked Asus My Water" and you'll find links to a lot of new wallpapers based on this one: e.g. beer, levitating woman, rubberduck etc! Proof if any that the accelerometer/tilt is working fine, people stating that tilt games aren't working properly; it's not a VC problem its a game issue
Guest trevor432990 Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Do you know if this would work for non-VC systems ?
Guest gusco Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Do you know if this would work for non-VC systems ? i've had it working on my corvus

Guest rubbery Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Ah thanks ... did you have to change permissions? There is a setting to allow root permission and to make the root folder writable.

I have actually used Root Explorer and moved the wallpaper to /system/app as directed but I can't find any option in RE to change permissions on a file once it's copied or am I missing something? Wouldn't be the first time
Guest juancaretta Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Tap and hold on the file and choose permissions there.
Guest goldenbolux Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Tried this with Corvus Does not tilt correctly Only way I can get it to work is to disable auto screen rotation Edited July 9, 2011 by goldenbolux

Aargh hate those long hold commands which no-one knows about .... problem is that now I've set the correct permissions it still does not install correctly cos when I try it says 'Application not installed' ... oh dear

A live wallpaper doesn't need to be installed in the usual way. All you have to do is place it in the correct folder and change the permissions; then reboot and change wallpaper. It should show up as an option when you select live wallpapers.

Rebooting the Vega fixed it and so now I've set it as my wallpaper but it seems to be fixed to portrait mode so any suggestions on that please? I don't have rotation lock set by the way and also tried settings>display>auto-rotate screen set off to no avail. Edited July 10, 2011 by trevor432990

Try this; go to wallpapers and select it again. At the bottom of the screen you should see 2 boxes - "Set wallpaper" and "Settings". Select settings and try checking or unchecking the "Enable water rotation" option.

Thanks for the tip which has made it stay in landscape mode but without the rotation bit working it loses its charm and the water surface should settle unless you are moving the Vega in my opinion but nice try by the developer.
