Guest mitridate Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Originally installed JJ rls9 via clockwork mod, you know, turn on while holding vol -. Worked perfectly. Then read somewhere that Swedish Spring was better so installed that via same method. Since then, the vol - and turn on method failed to boot into cwm but could still get to the menus via recovery manager rebooting into the necessarry menus. even installed some new animated startup pics that way. Anyway, was installing a 25mb game the other night when the "out of memory" message came up. accidentally pressed cancel instead of ok and it locked up. took battery out, rebooted but now it just stops on animated splash screen. tried to start in cwm but button combo not bringing up menu just goes to splash screen. Help please. had just done complete backup so don't care if I lose content.
Guest wbaw Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 That shouldn't happen. It could be some kind of hardware problem. You could try a TPT install, that'll reset all the radio firmware & everything. If that doesn't make it work again, then it's probably broken.

Hi, it would appear the recovery on your phone is a bit smelly, are you sure that if you hold the volume down (-) and the power key keep them held for around 10 secs you don't get to recovery? If the answer is yes, then your only simple option would be a TPT (Total Phone Transfer) ROM. Something like Ginger Stir Fry, ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gen1 to Gen2 All-in-one custom rom upgrade TPT This is an all in one rom + gen2 radio firmware + clockworkmod install for 'Gen1' ZTE Blades & Orange San Franciscos which were sold with Android 2.1 (Eclair). It will upgrade your phone to Gen2 radio firmware, install the rom & the latest ClockworkMod all in one step, even on unrooted phones. To install: Unzip the file to the root of your sdcard, it will create an 'image' folder. Check the integrity of the files using AFV (available from android market) to find the nandroid.md5 file in the image directory, then long press on it & verify nandroid backup. Turn off your phone, leave it for at least 30 seconds, then hold menu & volume + when you power it on. You should see some green text (may be just a blank screen) then it should reboot & you should see a big android while it is performing it's first boot (this will take a while). Once it has successfully started up don't forget to delete the image folder on your sd card, to prevent any accidents. Ginger Stir Fry B12 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT Download: gsf-blade-b12-tpt.zip mirror mirror mirror mirror Download size: 107.30mb MD5: 7aca7bedbae8673772486f0f3edc6e2d SHA1: 20682da87ba5a32716c07c76d57fbcb2f185e28c ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the text and links above were copied from this original post by wbaw Original post. The only down side is you CANNOT use a Gen 1 backup on a Gen 2 phone, smelly things will happen. You could switch back to a Gen 1 using TPT again and then Flash Swedish Spring. Personally I would go to Gen 2 and use Ginger Stir Fry. I hope this helps you. Anil. Edited July 11, 2011 by Anil k Solanki
Guest mitridate Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Hi. did try holding buttons for 10 secs. All that happens is green android logo disappears, slight vibration then green android reappears. this continues for as long as I hold the button down. can't understand why cwm stopped working after installing SS rls5 though. I'll try the TPT method and see what happens. loathed to get exchange cos then orange has a phone with all my data. might run it near an electron magnet. Thanks guys.
