Just installed, I like the look. It's worth noting it also has a built in share feature

Well... Just a mention here that its covered by androidpolice probably same mirror as in the OP's posting - have not checked :) (Apologies if this is a repost!) :)

Other findings from using it a bit, I can't seem to long press on items to bring up additional options like before.

The update button seems to be missing on apps that are already installed i.e. I can only open or uninstall them. Does anyone else have this feature/bug?

Finally, interface has a small bit of a resemblance to WP7 with the squares that look a bit like tiles to me although this is subjective.

Absolutely - feels very much like I'm expecting wp7 to feel. Just wish the blade had a bit more oomph to get this really flying. Nice though.

Search seems good at last. Amazed it took The Google this long to sort it out

In the US they have movies and books too, I tried with market enabler but couldn't get the movies section.

I have just installed it.

It's better than the old one

I like the new design and the new interface.

I believe movies, (and most likely books) are only enabled on non-rooted devices in the US. :( Any workarounds?

I tried MarketEnabler, but it behaves a little weird.

Movies doesn't show on rooted devices altogether, but there was an APK for the Movies app floating around XDA though.

Books appears but it gives a connection error, most likely it needs a US IP.

Edit: Attached Videos APK if anyone wants.

Has anyone noticed there is no longer an "Uninstall Updates" button? Just "Uninstall" the whole app. Has anyone else go this?

Mine has the Uninstall Updates button.

Mine has the Uninstall Updates button.

Is it at the top where it "used" to be? Because even apps that I've just updated, show as "Uninstall" and pressing that uninstalls the app funnily enough. laugh.gif

Ahh the uninstall updates app is there for the Market app itself, although for a recently updated app, in my case Twitter only has the uninstall button as well.

AFAIK you will get an Uninstall Updates button only for updated system apps. If the market is in the systems partition and you'll update it the update will get installed into data. If you update a normal app the update will just overwrite the previous installation in data.

I'm intrigued to see if this style appears in other Google apps soon...!

Try MarketAccess, works for me. I have CM7, so it's rooted, and when using MarketAccess, i get the Movies section. It just won't let me purchase, as i haven't got a US credit card.

I just installed this.

The new market imo is a little crowded but Im sure I will get used to it.

1st impressions is positive, I cant see that I would be interested in the movies side on my phone but would be nice on my Android tablet for use when travelling. Having said that I would just download the movie and watch it that way anyways :P

Is it me, or does this spend way too much time downloading way too many graphics? Makes things pretty slow. :(

Not just you, over Wi-Fi it's not fast. I can only imagine how slow it must be on 3G.

Getting some random languages in apps descriptions and reviews are outdated in the wrong order, anyone else seen that?

Tried the new version of the market but it won't start properly. I just get an authentication/logon error

Same here :P

Im just wiping data now to see if it helps :P

EDIT: I just re-flashed my ROM (cm7) without wiping data and then flashed Gapps. Booted it up and installed market and it works fine :P

Yeah, I saw non-english languages in the app descriptions during my brief play with it. Weird, because all the fixed text in the app was english so it knew what localization I wanted. Hopefully this is an early build and they'll sort out its priorities with regards to scrolling vs downloading graphics. Or at least cache the graphics!

Yes I am very much hoping this is a very early development. Also I don't really like the grey/general colour scheme, it should be made to black or something a bit sleeker. But maybe that just too WP7 :P

Anyhow when progress is made with this I will be theming it :P

I tried this out some more and feel they are onto a very nice style of things here.

Shame EU doesnt get all the services they do in the US though...
