I had a GEN2 phone, which was originally GEN2 only.

So FASTBOOT and TPT are disabled.

I had CM7 running fine since a long time, but I had issues with the camera, so DELL agreed to replace my phone under warranty.

Now tommorow, ie approx 18hours from the time of writing this, I have to submit this phone and get a new one.

I decided to flash the original stock ROM back in,

so I used this one over here:

I had read about users installing it successfully, so I went on with it,

and installed it using clockwork.

The problem: The boot animation (dell) keeps looping, and phone never boots.

I have lost clockwork, as the ZIP contained stock recovery too.

I dont have TPT or FASTBOOT to get clockwork back.

I need to put the stock ROM back in, and my phone is unusable right now.

GUIDE ME, someone! please.

If you can boot into stock recovery then use this to flash back stock Gen2 + clockwork. Then you need to work out why it didn't work.

I was wanting to avoid the windows flasher, but i guess I had no choice.

Anyway, used the stock GEN2 firmware, got into clockwork.

Also formatted /system this time, which i previously had not, and tried to install the same ROM again.

It worked! Now whats happening is truly unexpected:

ROM Boots up fine, shows the lockscreen and in exactly 5 seconds the phone reboots!!

Now what could be wrong here?

I am guess the system partition does not have enough space?? but i used the stock GEN2 firmware, and it should'nt happen.

Anyway, trying the recommended firmware now!

UPDATE: the issue was with battery, unplugged the charger, and it booted fine.

One last request: I need to remove the green android. It does not belong there in the stock version! there should be a blank screen!

Hmm... I wouldn't bother with the recommended one because it probably isn't big enough and its not going to fix anything. Try wiping data, cache, and system, and removing the SD card after you install it.

As I indicated in the post above, my battery went crazy (thats what i think).

Before flashing via windows, battery was 80%.

and after the flashing, the phone didnt boot, untill i connected it to the charger. After booting, it showed 13%, 35% and reboot! same cycle again.

Its alright now, just need to get rid of that green android.
