Guest tkalfaoglu Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 I had purchased an acer liquid E, and it was giving me some troubles -- frequent crashes, lack of "Market", etc. So I thought it would be best to root it and then install another ROM on it. I did that, the LCR-F.. The reboots and crashes continued, maybe to a lesser degree. Recently a clerk in some store tried to insert a USB charger into the phone a bit forcefully and unbeknown to me, he broke the connector.. I sent it in for repair, and it came back saying "needs a new motherboard", and a $350 bill. Refusing to be conned into this, I opened up the phone and with some difficulty re-soldered the broken connector. Now the phone charges, but still has the same reboot issues -- I'm trying a CDTeam rom now. However I think some pins are not touching as the PC does not recognise it as a device when I plug it in. What a mess the clerk of a store put me in! --- it was a dinky old shop so I did not go and complain, and no doubt they would have said they did not do it anyway.. Is there anywhere where I can find a new motherboard thats cheaper than the local robbers are charging? Thanks, -t
