Hi,

I am going to make a EX2 partition for use with link2sd. Could someone tell me the recommended size for the partition and swap size on a 16gb sdcard. I will be using clockwork.

Many thanks

Swap=0 (like task killers, ignore what some people say - Android does not need swap, indeed, adding swap can actually slow things down)

EXT2=1024 or 2048 GB, depending on whether you want loads of apps or a ridiculous number of apps ;)

Rest, FAT32

I can remember if clockwork limits the EXT2 size you can select, if it does, biggest offered.

Thanks very much. I looked at clockwork and you can choose up to 4gb but I think I will stick to 2048. Am I right it saying it will show as internal memory? Will it be the 2048 plus what the tablet already has onboard?

Thanks again

Nope, ext2 won't show up in ifilemanager or in the settings sd card/device storage.

It will show up in an app called link2sd if you run it hold back button and select storage info, that will show you internal/sdcard and ext2 storage sizes......

Ok sorry if this is a dumb question, but

Why would you use link2sd instead of moving the app with manage applications tab in settings ? they seem to do the same job.

With link2sd you are essentially increasing the internal memory size and can move essentially everything (except system apps). With moving the app to sd the apps are fully moved (to /mnt/sdcard) and lauching/accessing them on the sdcard isn't quite as fast as launching them from the partition where link2sd moved them to (data/sdext2).

Edit. And there seems to be an issue with moving apps to sd in Vegacomb but no issue with link2sd

I couldn't get Corvus5 SP1 using link2sd to recognise EXT2, EXT3 or EXT4 partitions.

I had to use a secondary FAT32 partition for it to work - not sure if there are any negatives to that.

App loading at boot seems a fair bit quicker using link2sd over app2sd
