Streak reboots around 100 Deg F

Hello All,

I was just wondering if is just me. I am running DJSteves 1.9.0 and 1.8.1 and my Streak overheats and reboots around 97-100 deg F Though I have seen 1.8.1 at 104 before it reboots. So I am currently using 1.8.1. But my problem is that the current ambient temperature is in the mid to upper 90's so I need to run it over the AC vent in my truck just to use it. Which leaves out the possibility of using my phone outside of the truck. Anyone else have this same problem or do the temps seem right for a reboot?

Have you tried it on stock romn? What is the battery temp showing?

I have not tried a stock ROM. I have run DJSteves and MoDaCo ROMs since last year. I will have to go look for a ROM to drop on the Streak. It is a first release, so it came with ATT 1.6 and my backup has been erased a long time ago.

The battery Temp is the same as the CPU temp.

We're approaching 30 days in a row over 100F in the heart of Kansas. My Streak has had no temperature issues at all. Car's air conditioning went out last weekend while traveling. 107F at least in the car with Streak on and plugged in to car charger for 4 hrs with no problems either.

Thanks Krazman

fards, I just got ATT stock ROM 353 installed, had to have the time to get it done, I am currently testing it out. Part of me wants it to work and part of me wants it not to work. I want to see if I can get the updated streak if I do a return to Dell. I will post my results of how it goes.

edit: no luck in the factory install. still rebooted, called dell I have a replacement coming in 5 - 10 business days.

Yeah, I'm on 1.9.1 and my Streak reboots when the temps climb higher. Going on 37+ days with over 100 degrees here in Texas

Any luck on this issue?

I remember last year I bought my streak around the end of June and never had a problem on the stock rom with heat in Alabama but this year it's been horrible. I'm running Steve's 1.9.1 and it's amazing, minus the rebooting......

Hate to break it to you, but it sounds like a hardware issue. The first Streak I bought also had overheating issues (bought it off the grey market no less, that was a painful pill to swallow financially), so much so it would restart with even normal usage in AC-enclosed areas. The second one I bought didn't have any of these problems and I have seen its temp get to 100 once or twice without a shutdown (the temp also doesn't seem to climb so easily on this one).

Its probably not a software issue.

Ok, so I took my phone down to stock ROM and it still rebooted. So I made the call to dell before my warranty ran out and they ended up replacing it. I got a brand new phone and I am still running on dells stock ROM for now and no issues.

Just chipping in, chaps. Try a stock kernel. I had this issue, which developed after several months of using custom roms. Turns out my cpu could no longer handle the undervolting most custom kernels use, causing instability at high temperatures and/or high loads.

Switched to a stock kernel and haven't had a single lockup, which is great cuz I can use my streak for gps/ bluetooth again!

Dude thanks for the input, I was worried there was no hope! My warranty ran out back in June so I would be screwed if it was a hardware issue. I'll give the kernel swap a shot tonight.
